Upgraded Rear Exterior Tailgate Liftgate Handle Garnish Compatible with Toyota 04-09 Prius 8S2 Seaside Mica/Seaside Pearl 2004 2005 2006 2007 2008 2009

Third owner of my car. One day I opened the hatch and the whole handle came with it. After living with a duct-taped car for about 6 months I finally decided to replace it.Getting the old, broken liftgate handle off of the car was way harder than installing the new one. Install was pretty painless. The whole process took me and my dad about 2 hours. Fits great and paint appears to be a good match. I’ve never garaged the car so there’s a lot of paint fade unfortunately but that’s how it is on a 15 year old car. If you have a 2nd Gen Prius and need a replacement this is a good option. Note that it does not come with a replacement handle button or smart key button, so you’ll want to purchase those separate if you need them. Thankfully mine were still in good shape.

This part was perfect and on point for a Prius with original color matching (ignore the now faded very old car). This saved $$$ instead of taking the car to the dealer/auto shop.Relatively easy to replace if you have all the tools: plastic car trim remover tools, a 10mm long socket (yours bolts may differ), a heat gun and dental floss to remove the car manufacturer emblem, alcohol wipes to remove glue from the emblem, and a small blade/box cutter if you need to cut holes in the provided double-sided emblem tape when reapplying it to the new part (our old car has tiny slots the emblem fits in and is not provided on the emblem tape).It's worth the purchase price.

The original design, simply brittle plastic, is a manufacturing defect.This after-market modification with a steel bracket for lift support should have been a factory retrofit after their flawed design.

This piece worked perfectly when someone broke my tailgate on the Prius. My car is older and the paint has faded, but this being close if not the same factory blue color saved me from having the mechanic paint the part. They were able to attach the electric cord, and install the keyless sensor with no issue.

Much shearer than OEM and perfect collor match

I actually bought two of these, and I will review the other one separately, but I have to note, even though this does appear to be a good product, and I appreciate the upgrades that were made over the OEM part, if the paint match is as bad as the product I received, then it's completely unusable. I had to return this one.I purchased a silver part to replace this one, which won't be OEM-look but at least it won't stick out like a sore thumb. Black was my first choice but shipping would take too long. The imitation CF part they sell looks like ricer trash so that one was out.
