Solid edging product
I've just installed a number of these around a gravel area in my family's yard and so far am impressed with this product. It looks great, installs fairly easily, and is pretty adaptable to different conditions. It's surprisingly unique as a readily available edging product - dead simple in look and format, in raw steel. Coyote has done well with this, and I hope it's soon also available in retail locations. A few notes for other buyers:I got the 6" tall version, but wish I'd gone with the 4" as our yard has lots of hard clay and a fair amount of roots and rocks. This made install more of a pain. I'd recommend going with the 6" only if you have softer soil, or you have a specific goal for how high you want the top of edging to sit above surrounding grade. This is fairly easy to bend into 90 degree corners. I clamped a piece to a wood block on a work bench then hammered the corner using a sledge.Coyote does offer a perforated product, but having gotten the non-perf version, and realizing I might run into drainage issues, I went ahead and drilled a bunch of holes into a few of the strips. The 18gauge steel wasn't too hard to drill. Some requests of Coyote: It would be excellent if they offered a heavier gauge option for those wanting to use it only for straight runs. Also, for long term durability with a rusted look, I'd love it if they'd offer this in weathering steel.

High Quality, Easy Install
I needed a metal edging that was deeper than the normal 6 inches, to stick down in the soil lower than normal and to stick above ground higher than normal. I'm so glad I ran across these. I used one of these from the package in full length, not needing to cut it. It was so easy to install. I inserted into the wet soil and gently tapped my rubber mallet along the full length edge to insert it to the proper depth. So easy. But before I could insert more....boom! A strong hurricane hit. I was evacuated for a month. When I returned, my entire wooden fence was gone, 80 foot oak trees had been uprooted with one falling right on top the area where this edging was. After the tree and fence debris was removed much later, I was walking around my yard, surveying other debris and damage, when I noticed the metal edging. I'd forgotten all about it. There it was, still sticking up where I'd left it, with everything that had been around it gone. It looked exactly as I'd left it. Wow. This is some good stuff. I highly recommend. The only thing that a buyer should be aware of is that the package is very heavy. I couldn't lift it. So if you're a female, you may have to drag it to where you want it, or use a dolly.

Looks Great and Easy to install
I ended up installing this along the edges of all of the plant beds at my house including the concrete edges. It looks great and it allows me to keep an extra 2" of mulch without it spilling onto my driveway or grass.Super easy to install. I installed about 400' so far. As others have suggested, get a large mallet (I used a 32oz and it was well suited to the task). I also suggest you get a half moon shovel, which I had never heard of before installing this edging and I'm quite sure it made it much easier to install as well.4-6 weeks after install it will be lightly rusted and lose the shinny raw metal look. It has continued to rust fairly quickly after that. Misting it with water on a how sunny day accelerates the process.I couldn't be happier with the outcome or the cost.

Sturdy, Stable, Flexible and Affordable
It's hard to find good lawn and garden edging at a reasonable price. These raw steel sections and pins are the best I've found. The initial application was to separate a lawn from a new planting area along 50 feet of sloped ground between two homes. I suggest that you add a large rubber mallet to your tool kit to simplify the installation. You'll be positioning sections and tapping the edging into the earth with the mallet as well as using it to drive pins into the earth when joining the sections. What's great about this product is that it is sturdy steel, not aluminum or plastic yet it is pliable enough that you can gently form it to make a curve. This stock begins to rust pretty quickly and it looks good. Another benefit is that is is not painted so gas powered trimmers can be used against it without damaging the finish. I've purchased a third package for another garden project where the steel acts as a barrier to runoff from a slope, providing protection to some new perennials and eliminating an erosion issue. I would have awarded five stars except for the packaging which ripped in transit and allowed the invaluable set of pins to not be delivered. I had to call the company and wait another week to begin my project.

Used to define a french drain
So far these are dope and serving their purpose well. We have a very wet back yard, and a few years ago we dug a French drain down each side of it. On one side, we lined the drain with pavers so that side always looks pretty crisp, but we didn't need a paver walkway down the other side, so we did nothing. After a couple of years of grass and weeds encroaching on that side, it started to look pretty raggedy and messy. I purchased these to add a crisp edge to the French drain with no pavers, and it they have served that purpose beautifully. Ideally, you would install these at the same time as the French drain so that they would be a bit buried into the ditch, but I wasn't able to do that. I did score the ground a bit with a flat edged shovel and then use a rubber mallet to pound these in a bit, and the included pins work great to keep them in place. As a result, my French drain looks much cleaner and neater and I am very happy with the end result. No more sloppy, grass-filled rock ditch.I will say that I ideally wanted a straight line of these down my yard.... but, these are 8 foot lengths of relatively thin metal that were shipped to my home, so getting them to all be perfectly straight is probably not going to happen, but overall they were VERY close to straight, and I don't think anyone else visiting my yard would even notice, but I am a crazy person.
