Outstanding customer service!!!!
I got these because I am a "crafts" person. And I like to attempt to fix things myself if it looks like something I can handle. A small set of needle nose pliers just seems to come in handy for the oddest and most random things, but that is the type I generally find myself reaching for when the job calls for pliers. Fixing jewelry, knick-knacks, electronics, the list could go on for a mile.As of late, I've been working on some crafts that include some light wire incorporated into it for support. So, I reached for my small needle nose pliers, of course! I may never have noticed this if I wasn't trying to manipulate thin-gauged wire, but the tips would just not hold onto it! Holding the tool up to the light, I discovered that the two pieces of metal to not quite come together! There is just enough of a gap that my wire slides right through.I examined it closer, wondering if the fact that the tips are "teethed" was causing it to not close fully. Or maybe it was misaligned or bent? But no, it's just not made with precision enough to close fully at the tips! I took my Dremel tool with diamond tips and shaved inner sides of both halves between where the hinge is and the teeth start, and that has helped a bit, but I am now on the hunt for a better quality set of mini-needle nosed pliers! And preferably with a wire cutter at the hinge, too. This one doesn't have one.Update: 5 stars!!! Due to the immediate response from the manufacturer below, I sent Tekton an email letting Melissa know I would very much like to try a new pair if these were not the standard quality of the pliers. I received my new pliers today (less than a week later!) and at first, looking at the pliers still in the packaging, I feared these were the same. But I am happy to report that it was just the spring-loaded hinge making these pliers look like they didn't close all the way! I held these puppies up to the light and couldn't even see a SLIVER of light trying to peek through!30g wire, here I come!!!! Thank you, Melissa! :-)

interesting definition of "precision"
i don't really like these pliers. for one, i had to sand them down a bit as there was a burr at the tip of the nose, and every time i opened and shut them filings were coming out where the jaw was supposed to meet. where the jaw closes, even before i touched them, there was visible light shining through, and it looks from the sides like they're snarling at me from the weird uneven way they sort of close at the grinds, and from the front the nose doesn't form a circle or a decent oval, more like a pill capsule shape where there's a big gap in the center so it isn't even angled straight. "precision" isn't exactly a word i would use to describe them. they'll be fine to have in the drawer but you definitely get what you pay for and i don't expect them to last long - especially not if i was able to sand that burr off with a fingernail file in under a minute.also, i have very tiny hands, even for a woman, and these are the first pliers i have ever used where the handles, while comfortable, feel too short. these are 'pinkies out' pliers - rather than using your hands, which is how i normally would, the only way to really work them properly with even the comfort grip is with my thumb on one side and first three fingers on the other, zero palm action, and no pinky. i can see my finger knuckles getting cramps in the future as they'd be doing all the work as opposed to my whole hand sharing in the labor and spreading out the force.

Like cheap material that easily breaks into half? Take this ... or better don't!
So, I've had this pair of pliers for about one year and I used it only in lite use, like removing overlapping plastics on 3D printed parts that don't require too much pressure or force. Overall I was happy with the pliers as they "did their job" although I lost the spring pushing it back out again rather soon. That was all the case till I used it today for a small 3D printed part when the pliers broke! Yes, you've heard right, the pliers broke ... the left handle broke away rendering the pliers useless. I wouldn't bother if I could see that I put too much force onto it but that was definitely not the case. Now I can throw away the pliers searching for another pair.Edit:After I wrote this review the manufacturer reached out to me to get me a new pair of pliers - which I dearly appreciate. The new pair is way better and won't break as easily. I give it only three stars though, as it's clearly a different model and I can't say much about if this particular model has been upgraded?!

Cheap item and low quality, but top-notch Amazon service (as usual)
I was looking for some cheap needle nose pliers for fishing. However, at $5, you get what you paid for. The pliers get stuck in the closed position because the spring in the hinge is not strong enough. Oil didn't help. The product itself is a one star product. Fortunately, Amazon's customer service is top-notch and they refunded my money to me, no return required (I love Amazon!). This bumped it to 3-stars.Edited:The manufacturer contacted me regarding my review (see comment below) and sent me a new pair of pliers. This time, the pliers were in much better shape. The spring looks new and works like it should. I think the first pair I received had just been sitting for a while, causing the spring to corrode. I still needed to add a bit of oil to smooth out the plier's movement, but it works fine now. For the price, you can't really beat this pair of pliers. Top knotch customer service from both Amazon and Tekton. Thanks!

Not bad for the price
This is a very small pair of pliers, and considering the price (I paid 4 bucks for mine) they're pretty nice. The jaws have decent alignment and the riveted hinge is quite smooth. The spring tension is about the right strength, although the spring looks a bit flimsy and may wear out over time. They're not really designed for heavy duty use, though, and the price is right, so get these if you need some very delicate needle nose pliers at a good price. Tekton has a good warranty, but again, these are cheap pliers, so don't expect them to stand up to anything but very light tasks.

Good light duty needle nose pliers
I use these light duty needle nose pliers for my hobby work and they are adequate. The jaws of the pliers are not completely true so that is why I gave 4 stars.

they are a bit smaller than expected. My fault ...
they are a bit smaller than expected. My fault, I assumed the 5" referred to the tool action and not handle to point.

Five Stars
Perfect needle nose plier for a budget price. Already using them to build my wood ship model. Recommended.

Handles are too short, save your money
These are tiny; get something with longer handles.-> However, if you're buying it for your 5-year old, then go ahead.
