Le Sueur Small Peas, 8.5-Ounce (Pack of 12)

If you've never had these you should try them. They're very good, sweet firm and delicious, and the can size is perfect for a small group of adults. I like the ability to purchase case size goods so I don't need to go to the grocery store so often.

Living alone, cooking I waste so much food, however, this 8.5 size canned saves me much waste, and I do not overeat trying to compensate. Of course, LeSeuse is my favorite brand of peas and I enjoy eating peas, one of my favorite greens.

I have always loved Le Sueur canned peas...better than fresh and way preferable to frozen. Unless I'm using them mixed in a recipe (like shepherd's pie), I serve these right out of the can, drained, and at room temperature. Guests who've claimed not to like peas...or who've balked at "cold" peas, have tried these and liked them a lot.UPDATE on January 8, 2013. I still love these peas but the shipment I received today had five dented cans, so I cannot use the peas at room temperature right out of the can. They will have to be used in recipes where they get fully cooked at high heat. Also, I don't understand how the price fluctuates so much. I paid around $18.My five-star rating stands for the taste of the peas. I don't want to downrate them in case the next seller is a better shipper.

These are delicious. My mother used to use them. So nice to have small size. Convenient, quick side dish. I pour juice out and re -season. What can be better than fried or baked chicken, mashed potatoes and peas! Also add as a side dish with vegetatarian pot pies. I've even taken a few cans (the large size) to small pot luck dinners when pressed as my contribution.

They are the best peas, but they are a bit mushy, aren't they? I know some people love mushy peas, my husband does, but wish they could be canned a bit less...
