FTDLCD® Replacement for Apple Macbook Pro 13" A1706 A1708 LED LCD Screen Display Complete Assembly (Space Gray)

I was a little bit worried when I placed the order for this screen as there were no reviews until this one that I am writing. I'm so glad that I took the chance. This replacement screen for my MacBook Pro 13" 2017 A1706 model is very high quality, no dead pixels, the video camera and green LED work too unlike some others that I have seen reviewed. The screen is also the correct Space Grey color and has the MacBook Pro wording at the bottom of the screen and has the Apple Logo on the outside.My laptop had experienced the same Flexgate symptoms that the earlier 2016 versions of this laptop can suffer from but Apple still have not admitted the issue can occur on Mid-2017 models. Instead of having to purchase a new laptop or pay a lot of money for someone to replace its for me, I decided to look to do this myself. The worst thing that could have happened is that I would then have to pay someone to fix it for me. I found a fantastic article on ifixit dot com called "MacBook Pro 13" Touch Bar 2017 Screen Replacement written by: Nicholas H. of Experimac. Only things to note: 1) at Stage 7 of the instructions move your plastic opener tool around to each side of your MacBook and twist to release the tough popper grips (they are too strong to just use the instructions from step 7to slide the back off of the laptop. 2) Make sure you use the correct screwdrivers at each step it's can be easy to strip the heads of each screw if you don't use the correct one as some of these are so small, both the pentalobe and torx are similar to look at.Take your time and follow the instructions carefully. There are some very small screws so be careful when removing them and not losing them either. It took me about 2 hours in total once I worked out what I had to do for step 7, if you take my advice you will save about 30 minutes from the time that I took if you work at the same pace as I did. So plan on about 1 hr 30 minutes.

Screen broke after 20 minutes of using it, now has purple bars across it, removed the screen and reinstalled to check there was no loose connections but it’s still broke - NONE EXISTANT customer service, contacted the seller and they said it’s nothing to do with them and to contact Amazon. Amazon said they can’t do anything and that I have to contact the seller !!!*Update - I have now recieved a refund*

I replaced my MacBook 2016 13 inch display. Quick on delivery. Item arrived well packaged. I replaced my screen after my previous one was damaged. It took a long time for me to install since I am an amateur but happy to say I am loving the quality of the screen. It feels like I have a brand new laptop all over again. I will recommend this buyer to others if they need a similar item. Keep up the great work!

Works great. Just before I've perchase it was showing next day delivery. once i purchased it showed and turned up 3 days later

First of all this was a gamble Apple wanted £500 with no guarantees that they could fix it. It was definitely a flex gate but who knows knows what else could be wrong? Screen was well packaged, and everything arrived perfectly. The only issue I had was when I was removing the screws of the old screen, the threaded because I wasn’t using the correct QUALITY screwdrivers. Installation was easier than removing the old laptop because I had everything lined up. I can’t compare against another MacBook Pro, but the screen looks identical. The only difference being that the replacement is slightly darker but you wouldn’t notice too much. Five stars.

Didn’t fit.

The product replaced a broken screen on my Macbook Pro A1708. I took it to my local shop to be installed, they had no issues. Can't say much more except that it works fine.

Worked just 1 year correctly!
