The Original Habanero Shaker - 100% Custom Flaked Hot Habanero Chile Peppers (2 Pack)

I was curious how much of the product equals one habanero so I contacted the seller. Joel responded very quickly, and while he admitted that he had never actualy dried a pepper, ground it up and weighed it, he estimated that one pepper would equal about a teaspoon of product. I made a pot of chili last night and while I normally use 7 or 8 habaneros I only used 4 teaspoons of the powder plus one teaspoon of bhut jolokia (ghost pepper) powder. It's quite possibly the best chili I've ever made. The flavor is excellent and the heat is almost perfect. I like it hot so if you don't want to sweat when you eat then I would recommend using a bit less. Joel also told me he's working on a habanero/bhut jolokia recipe and I'll be first in line to buy it. Rock on, brother!

It's habenero, and they're quite hot, as in a decent dusting has the sweat pouring off me. I eat the kind of hot food the restaurant makes you sign an insurance waiver to order, so this is a good thing.There are many super-hot hot sauces out there, but using them is problematic because a) They tend to be vinegar-based, which doesn't work with a lot of things, and b) They're hard to apply evenly and consistently unless you're adding them to soup or chili. Flakes solve both these problems. The jar is small enough to fit in your pocket, too.Price is good relative to other extra-hot options. When it's time to reorder I'll probably get the 1 lb container and fill this one from it for when I eat out.This level of spice isn't everybody's thing, but if it's yours, highly recommended.

When I received this product, I immediately got a take-out pizza so I could pour this stuff all over it. Fantastic! I like hot foods and normal pepper flakes as served, for example, in a pizzaria don't even register as "hot" in my mouth. I long ago switched over to habs and bhuts to get my heat supply. Being very used to and accustomed to the mighty habanero (I've grown them for years, too) I can attest that this product uses very good quality habs. A teaspoon or two in a recipe works wonders, and it works equally well as a condiment. For chiliheads and others just kind of tired of the usual boring, low-heat flakes, this can really perk things up! Highly recommended.

Excellent flavor and plenty of heat. I bought one for myself, another for my daughter and a third for a friend who LOVES hot peppers. We all think these are excellent... 6 thumbs up! Much more flavor than typical grocery store or pizza parlor flakes. Use sparingly... very hot!

I love my foods with heat and these little habanero flakes deliver! After my first taste I got online and ordered 6 more bottles! Yes, that’s how good they are.These are absolutely fantastic! Just the right amount of heat to enhance any dish. They add a nice Smokey heat and are not stupid hot. I grow my own habaneros but needed something in between the wait of my harvest. These fantastic flakes filled that niche nicely.I love the small bottle as it fits in my purse so I’m never without this awesome food enhancer.Kinda makes me wonder why I’m wasting time growing my own when I got this gem.Give them a try and I guarantee you’ll be back for more!

Great flavor with an elevated heat level...not for beginners. Nice smoked aroma and thatsignature Habanero kick..best controlled by portion...a little goes a long way, season to taste.

Hot stuff. This will put a bite into your mouth when you bite into anything you put it on. If you like a strong spice and a little reminder of a hot meal this is the perfect product for you. I was pleasantly surprised by the smoothness of the flavor. Great for eggs, fish, chicken, meat, guacamole, salsa, dip, chips, salad and I'm sure I will find many more uses as time goes on.It would have been nice if Amazon didn't put a big sticker over the bar code and other parts of the label. I wonder if I'm missing seeing something under there.I highly recommend this, "The Original Habanero Shaker". I have tried others and this is far above and better than any other product on the market of it's kind.Amazon allows for 5 stars but this is a "10" in my cookbook!

These dry flakes are tasty and hot. Not crazy hot, like biting into a raw habenero, mind you. Killer in soups, and you'll find other uses. Weird complaint, though: You get plenty, great value... but they come *packed full* into the shaker bottle, with holes in the cap that are mostly too small for the flakes. Shaking flakes out is a struggle. Or, you pry off the filter and risk getting too much in the food and/or spilling elsewhere. I mean, thanks for making sure we get as much as possible, but tweaking this aspect would help a lot.
