Set a time for the book of you want to pass the test
Honestly I didn’t dig deep in the book yet , am just getting a brief to understand the test and how to pass the exam so I put for my self a time for each section in the book and step by step go farther and be ready for the test . Will post update later

Comprehensive & well set out
I am not a fan of study guides, which can be paradoxically complex and hard to actually learn from. This is not, which surprised me. It is set out in a way that I can actually learn from. It is clear, concise and yet seems to have ALL of the information that I need in order to sit my elementary education subtests. I particularly like the way that a specific category of learning is set out, followed by effective instructional strategies - a great ‘clue’ for what I need to be sure to learn! It even gives simple test taking advice on subjects such as - ‘Don’t Overanalyze,’ or ‘Your First Instinct.’ I am very happy with this purchase.

doesnt go into detail
I liked this study guide as it has many practice questions. And more important than that, it has explanation to why an answer is the correct one. It doesn't go in detail on many of the topics but i dont know how much detail is demanded on the actual test. I will update my review once I've actually taken the test. But I have to say I feel the need to go online and look for a practice test that simulates the real test. I dont feel confident to take NES just yet. But that's based on my own fears, nothing to do with the book review. i know there one you can buy for around $17 on Nes website.

Would reccomend- easy to comprehend
This product overall was helpful in preparing to study for the NES subtest 1 and 2. My book received had no printed or text errors. I feel that this book best prepared me for subtest 1 (ELA and Social Studies) as the information was similar to the test. I feel that the math section was not as helpful for subtest 2. I studied the book and practice test for months and did not have any math related questions similar to the study guide. Overall I would reccomend as it was much more helpful and full of more detailed information than the online study guides you can purchase on the AEP website.

Great and has a huge/hilarious mistake
Coming from someone who took the test recently (and passed):The book is great for English, Math, and Arts/Health/Fitness. It's only okay for the science in preparing you for the test. There's a lot of information in the science chapter, most of which you won't be tested on.Do not even bother with the history chapter, it doesn't provide any information you'll see on the test. It should be noted however the information is valuable in ones everyday life and towards teaching history. It just won't prepare you for what's on the history test.Additionally, as you can see in the picture, the map of the U.S. (page 176) has Oregon and Washington transposed. Someone should fix that.

The real test is way different
Preparing through this book made me think the test was fairly easy. NO! It is so NOT aligned with the real test, more so on the math. It fooled me, don't let that happen to you

The study guide and practice tests only partially prepare you
The book will prepare you for most of the information but not all. I highly suggest purchasing practice exams from Pearson on top of this study guide. The practice exams are far easier in this guide than the actual exam which is more situational based questions, and the Pearson practice tests model that structure better than this study guide. I feel like it covered 70% of what was on the actual exams. I still studied the whole book, took the practice exams provided and purchased Pearson practice exams separately, and passed the NES subtests 102 & 103 on the first try but know it’s harder than this book.
