Love This Pencil - Comfortable to Hold, Sleek and Attractive
When it comes to writing tools, I never would have thought that I would spend $12 for a single pencil and like it so much that I would spend another $17 on the limited edition pink version of the same pencil. That said, the Pentel Graph Gear 1000 Mechanical Drafting Pencil is an excellent mechanical pencil and works flawlessly at holding lead, and feels incredibly comfortable in your hand. It pairs beauty with function and although it's pricy, is something that can be used for years. Lead is dispensed smoothly and stays firmly in place when you write. You can retract the lead back into your pencil by either clicking and holding the metal button on top like most mechanical pencils, or you can retract the entire metal tip with the lead set in place by pressing the clip that normally holds a pen/pencil at the top of your pocket. The pencil feels very durable and while it's not entirely made of metal (the inner workings are made of plastic) it still has a substantial look and feel. The only thing I don't like about this pencil in comparison to my original GraphicGear is that the silicone dot grips sit just a little bit lower. It's a very minor thing, but after using both the GraphicGear 0.5 and 0.7 lead pencils with the higher raised grips, this one just doesn't feel quite "right". It's not so pronounced that I wouldn't use the pencil, but it's something to note if you've used the other standard GraphicGears. Overall, if you're looking for a well-made and attractive pencil that feels comfortable to write with for long periods of time, this is a great one to consider.

Hefty Pencil
Let me begin with saying I love this pencil, I am so happy to have gotten a replacement for my nearly 20 year old mechanical pencil that needed to be retired. I have spent the last few years constantly breaking the $3 Papermate pencils, which I absolutely love for the eraser, but the pencil itself is barely worth replacing it's led because they break. This pencil does not feel like it will break and should last me another 20+ years. It's a little heavier than most people may like, but writes so nicely. I love the tip retraction of the pencil clip "button". I also find it very cleaver that there is a twist feature that you can set to remind you what kind of lead is in the pencil (H, HB, B, 2B), It's a little bit out of my budget to own 4 of these beauties for each lead type, but if I was someone who enjoys using different leads regularly, I'd highly suggest this pencil for that feature alone. (Speaking of lead, I highly recommend using a good lead since lead quality is equally important to pencil quality. I use Pentel Ain Stein lead. It's slightly more costly, but worth the few extra dollars.)One more thing about the pencil I'll mention is the color. I have the red colored variant and it's gorgeous! The red and silver contrast nicely and looks like a material that will hold it's color/beauty for the longevity of the pencil.Lastly, the eraser is a little to be desired due to size. While the quality is nice, I wouldn't recommend relying on this pencils eraser if you plan on doing a ton of large erasing. I carry around a separate eraser to do most of my erasing, and only use this pencils eraser for small precision erases.

Sweet pencil
I love mechanical pencils and first bought these for my shop as they we promoted by some online woodworkers. They’re great! Smooth operation and a quick release to retract the pencil lead to protect it. The pocket clip is sturdy and actually useful unlike many. I like them so much, I bought this pink one for regular use in the house. Pretty color is perfect for breast cancer awareness month.

A high quality item for every day use and classing up your nerd game.
I use this every day at work and I love it. It has an excellent heft, a great feel, and the mechanicals are super solid. I recommend this, and I'm not Commander Shepard. But Shepard doesn't use mechanical pencils everyday, and I do, so do with that what you will.5 STARS!

One of my favorites pencils in a new LIMITED EDITION color!
Just received my beautiful RED PG1015 GraphGear pencil yesterday and I am SO excited :)(I bought some other colors as well but am most excited about the red)I like all the graphgear series (PG500, PG1000 and PG1000) but my favorite is definitely the PG1000s since it has a nice weight to the pencil (not too heavy, not too light). And while the regular graphgears are also nice looking with the full silver & color grips, I REALLY like this colored barrel version, especially the red color. I wish Pentel would make more pens/pencils in this type of deep red color!!And while this isn't specific to the limited edition version, I like the "indicator" you can use if you put in a different lead. I prefer 2B so once I used up the HB lead inside, definitely changing that. I do like that the colored barrels makes it easy for me to know which one I'm grabbing. Not sure how long this "limited edition" pencils will be on Amazon so bought a few extra for Christmas presents to my family (since these aren't the cheap pencils they do make nice gifts, especially in the paper tube!). Wish me luck that I won't open them & use them myself before I have a chance to give them as present!!

Great stationery
I obviously think that this is very high quality, it feels good whenever I'm writing but I do get tired of using it here & there. Overall though I think it's an amazing pencil & i love it.

Colorful Pencil
Pencil is nice looking, easily held and writes nicely. The lead automatically advances when the top button is pressed and retracts when the button is held all-the-way down and you press against the lead point with a finger. The lead holding mechanism--and lead--also retracts when the pencil clip is depressed. An all-around nice mechanical pencil, well worth the price.
