George Mueller: He Dared to Trust God for the Needs of Countless Orphans

Poorly written and incomplete account of an otherwise inspirational story.
I had great expectations from this book. But, for me at least, they were not met. One of my biggest problems with the book was it’s very poor editing. I don’t know how many times I had to go back and reread a sentence because it’s meaning was unclear. There was one sentence which I never did figure out its meaning. The story is inspirational, but there are gaps as well. It focuses on the number of unwanted children George’s ever expanding orphanage institution can accommodate with the help of God. But we learn little to nothing about his pastorship, his family life, or his personal role with the orphans, only his constant desire to expand without asking for any money. His dependence on God to provide everything needed was indeed inspirational. But the poor editing and the absence of really getting to know more about George left me feeling that this was simply lacking.

Great read and faith-builder...
We purchased this book to supplement a study we were doing in our church's small group/adult Sunday School. It was an excellent book, written at about a 4th to 6th grade reading level. It made for a quick read for most of our class, but was appreciated by some of the slower readers in our class as well. I highly recommend this book, mainly for the subject matter. Hopefully it will encourage you to dig further into the life and ministry of George Mueller, but more importantly to the seek the God he so faithfully served!

Seems to be partly fictionalized and has his wife and a co-worker providing mild opposition that I've never sensed in reading other books about Müller. But it propels the reader along.

A must read
If you want to stay as you are then do not read this book. Georges view, understanding and relationship with God challenges me every time I read this book. To God be the glory.

Great Faith Builder
If you need to see how a regular couple work through how to stand in faith with the one true God and provide for people who can't provide for themselves this is the book.

Fantastic!
The story of George Mueller and the Bristol orphans is another faith-building story that never grows old. Every Christian needs to read this account of God's faithfulness and what God can do through a single man who is totally committed to Christ Jesus.
