I wouldn't put the sharpness on par with the kit lens. Its not as razor sharp as a Nikon, but certainly close and a competent performer. There's not really much to complain about for the price. The Nikon kit lenses with their focus by wire allow one to finely dial in a bit more detail and sharpness. Also bear in mind that for the Z50 those lenses are also VR.Even without VR I got some good results handheld indoor at 1/15 of a second and outdoors in sunlight from 1/150-1/500. The enclosed image is at 1/500 and the focus is on the clump leaves just below the center column. Unfortunately I don't remember what the f-stop was but since the depth of field is so shallow it must've been pretty low. Hope this gives an idea of how sharp it is.Used it on a tripod at night too but I don't have much experience with night shooting. It certainly lets in plenty of light. Still a lot to learn about this lens. I'm just an enthusiast but it was good enough to keep.

Not bad for the price. It has no autofocus so its a little harder to use. Picture quality is actually good, comparable to the 24-50 kit lens. Feels durable , has a metal mount. If you manage your expectations this is a good little lens. Its a dx lens so my z5 cropped it, it gave me a 35mm angle of view. If you are taking pics of objects that dont move, its awesome.

For the price this lens is okay. I personally prefer to manually focus a photo, but with this lens It takes longer than I'd like to make sure the focus is where I want it. Photos come out decent.I'll add some photos taken with this lens when I get them off the camera.

A fun little lens that really takes you back to the old days of film photography. The same takes remarkably good photos for the price and I highly recommend it.

A great manual APS-C lens for the Z mount. Decent sharpness and great build quality. For the price, you can't go wrong
