Pretty solid overpriced kit
It could have been plastic and probably 1/3 of the price and would have been fine. Maybe metal frame for code? Who knows. Works and looks great. Solid components in kit. Straightforward install after I bought the actual surge protector from somewhere else. This was a pretty great but overpriced kit.

Clean install
Very easy to install. Did it myself and had no issue like other posts mentioned. Pricey for what it is but there is hardly no other option if you want to have a clean professional look to your surge protector installation

It does the job
You end up with a decent appearing mount. It's not difficult to install, but does take some wiring/fab skills. Most homeowners should be able to accomplish this. The biggest downfall is the price. It's a little hard to take for what you receive.

Received used unit missing screws and anchors
I received this part and it was wrapped up in a saran wrap type closure. The screws and anchors were missing. When I buy something I expect it to be new unless I buy a returned product. I have bought returned products before but I knew that going in. This was not easy to install. It took a lot of modification in the drywall to get it in. One of the big problems is the piece of Plastic flex conduit they supply. It is to rigid and will give very little and that makes it harder to get it installed inside the drywall. Metal flex conduit would work better but I was out of it. I am going to have to patch a little drywall around the unit after installation as I had to make the hole bigger than the unit to get it in the wall. The Instructions make little sense and are backwards in my opinion. I am a retired electrical worker/Tech and I did not like this at all but my panel is flush mounted and this unit is way over priced. Good Luck to you. BP

Made for a clean installation
I installed a whole house arrestor and this allowed me make the installation next to my flush electrical main panel. Easy to use and made for a clean installation.

Looks nice, but poorly designed
When the 1/2” rigid coupling is installed, it is too close to the inside top frame of the bracket. There is not enough of a gap for the Sheetrock to properly fit between the coupling and the bracket on the top edge. This item could also use more information on how to install it in an “old work” application. Links toYouTube videos or better instructions.Recently installed another one and I was hoping the previous installation issues would have been addressed.I’ve realized the simplest way to install this is by cutting open an access hole and covering it with a data outlet and a blank cover.

Nice, but over-priced
Bought this so the installation of the HEPD80 whole house surge protector would look a little more professional. The HEPD58MKF is over-priced at $47.68 — it’s only a bezel and some hardware. The HEPD80 does all the work and is only $89.84.At least when the HEPD80 does its job and I need to replace it, I won’t have to buy another HEPD58MKF. (Assuming civilization hasn’t gone to hell in a hand-basket.)
