I'm impressed with the construction and operation of this dimmer. I attached it to the side of my 3D printer to control a small strip of LED lights. The covered, but easily accessed, terminals look good and function well. The control itself smoothly goes from full bright to all the way off. That's what I wanted and got.

I put it on my headlights I installed on my blazer they were way to bright on dim this turns them down to barely a glow or back up to 100 percent

Seems to be working just fine, does what I need it to do. The included wiring is good quality.If I had any complaint, it would be nice if there was a positive detent when turning the switch to the off position (one star deduction). The switch is completely off though in the “off” position.I’m using it to dim 12 volt led strip lighting on an RV.

Well built and sturdy, I'm glad it's a coated metal case. The flip-up cover for the power screws is a nice touch and the contacts have plenty of height to fit a proper wire.That said, the supplied wire bundle and the DC barrel pigtail is laughably, possibly even dangerously thin...might be 14 gauge at best. Best to discard them as for most 30A applications you should probably be using 10 gauge

trying to come up with a way to see the dash gauges on a F53 ford. They are impossible to read during the day, ;Adding strip of LED's along the top of the panel helps greatly. being able to dim them to find the best operation is great.

My wife asked to add dimmers to our van's roof rack lights. So got these to put on a 7 amps 12V circuits for a light bar and 3-6 amp roof light circuits. Each circuit is independent so well within the 30 amps rating of these switches at 12 to 24V. Got a set of 2 white and 2 blacks. 1 dimmer died, 2 dimmers stopped dimming . I didn't install the last one based on performance of the first 3. The install was relatively easy. I used my own wiring and ring terminals.

Edit: One and a half years later and it's still going strong. Still 100% satisfied with this buy.I needed a dimmer and off switch for my new Low voltage pergola lights and this baby works beautifully. I paired it with a Lutron outdoor outlet cover (also available on Amazon) which waterproofs it nicely.I’m getting flicker free dimming on my LED bulbs, and the dimming range is 100% from full to zero light. Couldn’t be happier.To the other review that states this won’t work with landscape lights that use an AC to DC transformer - huh? Of course it will!

I used this to operate the lights on my HO train layout. I originally had all my lights going directly to my little home made toggle switch box. I cut the wires from my 12 volt DC power supply and the junction box and put this dimmer in the middle so now I can adjust the lighting as desired. Works Great !!!

On time. I used this in front(ahead) of 8 zuckeo 5w landscaping lights that the manufacturer says aren't dimmable! BUT this worked fine. Works well so far,installed outside as well.

I recently had a lit house address sign installed on my house. Of course the LEDs were at full brightness so it was just overwhelming the look of the house. The installer said the sign was "non-dimmable" but only because they put a standard transformer in. I received this unit today at 4 pm and I had it installed and running in 15 minutes. Super easy to install, easy to access screw terminals and infinitely adjustable brightness—i now have the sign at exactly the brightness I envisioned. Some people report that LEDs don't turn all the way off when dialed right down, but mine did. With the dial at the minimum "off" setting there was no light.

Tried to use this to control the speed of a brushed DC motor but it operates at an audible frequency, making it unsuitable. It appears that the switching MOSFETS are driven by an lm358 op amp operating as a comparator. The inputs to the op-amp are the sawtooth waveform from a 555 and a voltage controlled with the potentiometer. Unfortunately, the op-amp rise rate is too slow for high frequency operation so swapping out the 555 timing resistors to speed up the frequency would likely lead to poor switching. Has two nice DTK0403 MOSFETS though!

Product was easy to install and seemed reasonably constructed. Dimming function was limited to the first third of the rotation, after which it was full power the rest of the way.Was working for a little over a month on an 80W 24V total load, then got rather hot, burnt smell and fizzled out... 8 days past the return window.Seems no option to contact seller or get a warranty replacement.Maybe I got a dud, but I think I'll try my luck elsewhere.(Will edit rating if the situation changes)
