Lies & Spies
An intricate plot and interesting and very British characters. My first book in this series but I will go back and read the others and then go forward. A wonderful read that keeps you intrigued and wanting more.

Enjoyable
It kept me guessing until the end! Included some history and historical places. I will definitely be reading more Posie Parker mysteries.

complex
Twisty plot, great characters and many character arcs. Seaside and winter atmosphere adds color. Solid addition to the series. Advances the macro plot.

Dreams Can Kill
If you like espionage books, this is a good book for you. I am not a great fan of spies, even though I like to read a good espionage book here and there. This one was a great read not only because of Posie, a great main character but also because it is not only about espionage, national security, and treason but also about trying to fulfill your dreams. This is a well-written mystery, and an amazingly crafted study about human nature, their desires, and how much someone's dream can cost them.

Well written, and so lovely.
This book was wonderful. The historic mystery plot was exciting and interesting. The writing and characters were so descriptive. The language was refreshingly clean, as was the whole book. I wish I could write well enough to express how much I liked it.

Secrets secrets secrets
It seem as though everyone is hiding something and it's up to Posie to dig out the truth. A few encounters with eavesdroppers spilling tons of information just seems to complicate the matter rather than solving it. Her surroundings keep dredging up memories of Max, an associate and close friend who had died following a previous case. Now, having been drugged to keep her out of the way, she encounters Max again. Is it just a dream? a hallucination? the activity of her subconscious? a ghost? Is he really dead? Whatever the case, aided by some new thoughts she requests research from Sergeant Fox and finally solves not only this case, but the larger one troubling her fiance, Chief Inspector Lovelace.

Pushing the boundaries
With each successive book in the series, author LB Hathaway pushes the boundaries of identity. In Murder of a Movie Star, almost everyone is playing a role. In Murder in Venice, there’s a lot of mask wearing. In The Saltwater Murder we meet some characters who aren’t who they say they are, and in Murder on the White Cliffs, identities are blurred completely. The plots are getting molre complicated, too. I’m liking this series more and more.

Totally outstanding!!
Of late I've so often been disappointed by "golden age" mysteries, but this one hit all the right notes perfectly ! Intricately plotted (a twist on a twist on a twist right up to the very end), I could never guess who all the bad guys were. All of the details were relevant and served to refine one's picture of the wonderful, resourceful, clever Pose. Can't wait for the next one!

Very repetitive
Interesting storyline, but drawn out and repetitive..

Exciting
Nice old fashioned thriller

unnecessarily complicated
Not much of content and story, rather just way too complicated without real twist . Everything falls flat at end. Didn’t really like it..

Best cozy mystery
As a fan of Agatha Christie, you can't go wrong with L B Hathaway. Including the drama of life of the main Character, the author pulls out all the stops of a page turning, twisted, no edged jigsaw puzzle! I recommend starting with book one . . .
