I have used this for 2 years. It simply does the job of getting rid of calcium scale in my plaster pool. When my pool was first put in service, the scale came fast. I tried scrubbing with a pumice stone and various chemicals that were cheaper than this product. I finally decided to give it a try and I have never looked back. This product simply works. I am now to the point of using a small amount, maintenence dose. I try to do it monthly but if I forget, it's no problem. This product is worth the money. So far, I've been able to catch price drops and saved a few bucks.

Been using this for several years and it does what it says. Nothings gets rid of all the scale but it does keep heavy buildup away and the tiles stay nice looking. Disappointed with my last delivery as the bottle was leaking when it arrived. The foil seal is just weak and doesn't survive shipping well (box was in good shape so it wasn't manhandled or beat up in shipping). Must be a common issue as the bottle was in a plastic bag so you can pour out spilled contents and not lose that. Smart but not ideal and messy.....

This stuff is the best. We live in Central Texas, have a well and our water is extremely hard. Our pool had crystalized and this was recommended by a pool builder. It worked like magic. We use it routinely ever month to keep the scale away! Expensive but it gets the job done and keeps the scale away. Glad to find such a great product!

I had high hopes of using this product to tackle my severely scaly pool - not just regular scale, but dirty brown scale. Not a pleasant thing to look at. I thought I would have to have an acid wash but was afraid to drain the pool because of the risk of floating it. I had tested the scale with muriatic acid and had no problem removing it. However, due to neglect and low calcium concentration of the water, minerals had been drawn out of my wall and had stained the entire pool - floor and all walls. We're not talking a light stain - but really thick, rough, and ugly absolutely everywhere. Scrubbing alone didn't do a thing and my local pool store recommended ScaleTec. Of course, their prices are much higher than what you pay here. Thus, I ordered twice as much as needed because I wanted to give this product every chance I could give it by having a follow-up roughly 30 days after initial application. I balanced the water before according to directions before adding the product. Then I scrubbed. And I scrubbed. And I scrubbed. I made sure the water stayed within the recommended values and added a second dose of ScaleTec. Then I scrubbed. And scrubbed. And scrubbed. I waited for a long time - but there was absolutely no difference in appearance. In the end, I would not purchase this product again - obviously because it didn't do a thing other than drain money out of my wallet. Perhaps it works well with light scaling, but anything serious can, apparently, not be removed by this problem. If you have some serious scaling, opt for an acid bath - that's what I did. Sealed off my actual pump and filter, dumped quite a few gallons of muriatic acid in the pool to lower the pH to unpleasant levels, agitated the water with a sump pump, scrubbed, and had a mostly scale free pool one week later. There still was serious staining at the deepest part of the pool that brushing in the acidic water did not remove. I re-balanced my water as quickly as I could - pretty easy stuff that didn't take more than three days. For that, I attached a large funnel to some PVC pipe, lowered the end of the pipe to the dark scale, slowly poured muriatic acid into the funnel, and watched the scale disappear before my eyes. Since my pool tends to run high on pH, adding the acid to remove the scale didn't even negatively affect the water.

I used 2 gallon and did not see an improvement at all in the scale around my pool's water line for the money it was not worth the results
