Very strong and heavy steel blade, that you will not bend or damage. I used my sander to put a little sharper edge on it. The blade is one solid piece of steel, and there are no welds to break or bend off. Handle is solid hardwood without any knots or unusual edge wood patterns that will easily crack. I have been using this edger along the sidewalk to trim the heavy overhang of grass and dirt. Today I used it to cut a line in the backyard lawn were I am installing brick edger. Rubber coated handle makes it nice and easy to use. This product is MADE IN THE USA too! So feel proud to buy it. Stop buying cheap imports. Buy USA, its your job!

I noticed right away that the handle was extremely bendy, so I took extra care, however it gave a surprise snap anyway, all at once breaking in half. Returning for a refund and I will purchase the more expensive one with the solid handle at my local store. :/ As you can see buying a new handle is not an option because I cant remove the pin.

I ordered this to replace one where the handle was not replaceable, and it had come off. It's also hard to get one with a handle long enough for my husband. The handle is indeed 48" long, and it is replaceable! It is also very sturdy and well built, so this one should last many years to come.

The price was right for this basic home owner landscaping tool!Anyone who wants a professional look in their yard needs this item. It creates perfect edging for flower and shrub beds.The handle and metal edger are strong and I think this will provide me with many years of service. The Ames brand has always worked for me and it is made right here in the USA.

it is really for small jobs.. i did one side of my driveway. and i was poopeed. but it gets the job done. i recamend itit would be great for edging gardens find a video how to use to get the best results.

Saw this item on GardenAnswer channel and waned to try it. So easy to use, I love that it can do my edging without me going back and forth. Got most of the back garden done in just a few hours.

Although it's still hard work, this tool makes manual edging so much easier! Sharp blades easily penetrates turf. Seems to be a good quality tool as well. I have used it quite a bit.

Nice cutting edge. Long handle. Not sure handle would hold up long with levering use, but light enough for someone who cannot easily use heavy equipment.I like it!
