My Favorite Wick
The wick is simple, nothing fancy. It serves its function very well. I use mine in Tiki torches. I like them considerably better than the wicks that are sold specifically for my Tiki torch b/c the fit is better. The fit is incidentally so good I needn't use the 'STOP CLIPS' nor the 'ANCHOR CLIPS' (I am likely not recalling the correct terminology). The burning and wicking action is perfect. Doesn't char fast like many of the wicks with synthetic materials. The absolute only area I see room for improvement is the cut. The cut is frayed too much to facilitate an easy installation into my Tiki torch. As such, I make cuts just about one radius' length from the end (1/8") to make installation easier. In volume production, cleaner cuts on 100% of wicks likely drives up cost. As such, I am content with this simple added step of clipping the ends cleaner. (Though use of good quality carbide cutters of cotton wicks should pay for themselves in fairly short order, depending upon volume, though handling of really sharp carbide cutters in mass production requires rigid safety standards or the consequences can be considerably tragic. If done in a SOHO (Small Office Home Office) for moderate volume, a few pairs of top quality shears will go a long way -- even barber shears, though of the best quality, though carbon steel, stainless steel, surgical steel or carbide shears for textile work or leather work will likely stand up better for clean cuts on a variety of wick sizes over large lot sizes. Large shears provide better mechanical adantage (MA in Simple Machines venacular), granted speciality cutters exist for ropes as well. To control lengthes, these likely are guillotine sheared in a production die that holds the wicks taut (or ina die)H while precisely cutting. If this is the case, we'd likely want indexable carbide with a very sharp and work hardened edge even if this isn't High Speed Steel (HSS) cutting, we still desire an edge that stays sharp after 100s or 1000s of cuts, but can easily be replaced if damaged or worn.)

Good Value
Promptly delivered and fit perfectly. With only one lamp, I really didn't need this many however.

They Work Great
These wicks are hard to thread through the hole in the ceramic cork, but once you get that done they burn great. I wrapped tape around the end to thread it through.

Nice, but burn way too quickly
Really like these, they burn very nicely. However, they burn way too quickly - very little "lit" time before the wick is gone.

Centimeters and inches are not the same
I thought these would be a bit about 17 inches. They are 17 centimeters. Sorry about our crappy English system but 17 inches is 43 centimeters. I returned them for replacement and got the same thing in return. nice cotton wicks but please know your conversions. Useless to me at this length.

Probably got enough for 2 lifetimes
They fit, they wick up fuel, and I guessed at the right size, and I will never run out of these! Just got to remember where I put them!
