A 5 year old needs the small size. Last year my son had no protection and got swimmers ear. This year with the band in the pool for more than 5 hours every day for 14 days. Had no problem with ears, kept them dry. Also he had no objection to wearing it.

I find it a bit tight to use on my 5 yo however it definitely does the job and protect my son ears from the water when I bath him.

Got this for my son as he was having ear infection because of swimming. But he didn’t like the feeling of it so he refused to use it . I am not sure if it works or not .

Before we had this my five year old was really struggling to progress at his swimming lessons as he refused to put his ears in the water. Got this too see if it would help and it's made a big difference. He's so much more confident to put his head in now. Still a way to go but this combined with goggles has really helped him.

Bought a small which did not fit my 18month old head. I then ordered a medium which is a totally different material and quality and quite large.
