You could probably make this yourself self but an extremely handy item to hold wires, etc in place with attaching/soldering. As mentioned, the clamps are a bit strong so if you are doing something that can be damaged, put some heat shrink on the jaws to protect the item.

This makes soldering small, intricate soldering connection just about as easy as it gets. One does not need large wire tails to work with. Twisting is not necessary. And almost zero amount of solder to make a rock solid connection. The wire tails stay solid where you place them till soldered. Absolute must have in “ANY” electric soldering kit. Saves time and money, especially at its cost.Cheap at twice the price. 5 stars.

Works very well makes life a lot easier when soldering wires especially when you don’t have that third hand to hold them clips have a strong retention would recommend putting something over the teeth so they do not puncture the wire sheathing on you working on

Was at first hesitant to purchase these. However I'm glad I did. They save me time and frustration when joining two wires to soldier. The alligator clips hold tight. The clips are attached to a semi ridged U plastic coated wire. You can move the wire to adjust the placement of the clips. A simple product that works great. You get 2 of these

Wish I bought these years ago. Simple but made my joints come out way nicer and it’s easier to do while in unusual places that aren’t on a bench. I still use them in my bench as well though.

Wiring fixtures while on a ladder is nerve-wracking, but when you have two clips to hold the wires together, making an excellent solder joint is very simple!!

While I think this is overpriced, it certainly works. I was not at my home or I would have made my own. To hold two dangling wires together to be soldered, this proved to be worth the price. If you have ever tried to hold two wires next to each other while you soldered them, then you know how difficult that can be.
