Great product
When I looked to upgrade my 2001 Silverado 2500hd I first tried HID bulbs & because of the delay in warming I realized only 2 lights worked on hi beam, I just never realized it. First I changed to LED which were clearer light but was disappointed with hi-beam then I found this kit.Simple installation, color code didn't quite match instructions but an ohmmeter solved that issue. And I used heat shrink for weatherproofing. Once on, I'm really pleased with the results. They've been on for a year and absolutely no problems.

1999 Suburban lighting it up
Given I have an older vehicle,1999 Suburban, I am more than happy with the product simply being available. Both quality and performance are very good, Painless wiring products are excellent. The instructions did not match up at all with my wiring color but another user had the correct wiring which made the job easy. The only issue I had was the tap connectors were malformed but I worked through it, my package was an Amazon fulfillment so expect I got a customer return that didn’t make back to Painless. Seems to happen more often.

Brings up both high and low beams in the HI setting.
With the help of readers who answered my question last week, I was able to complete this installation in less than an hour. I encountered some discrepancies between my vehicle and the instructions. The yellow power lead from the relay to the low beam lamp I attached to my brown lead (see photo). The high beam wires connected black to the yellow relay wire, and my green wire to the purple relay wire.I'm very satisfied with the results and would highly recommend this kit.TRUCK:1999 K1500 Suburban

Worth every penny
I recently installed new HID conversions on my 2001 Silverado 2500 HD. I got both high and low beam sets from ebay. I installed the kit easily enough and was amazed at the brightness. However, what I DID NOT realize is that HID bulbs take severeal seconds to heat up and produce the entense light. My test drive that night bursted my bubble to say the least. When I went to high beam while traveleing down a dark farm road I suddenly had no lights at all and had to hit the brakes to avoid a wreck because the low beams turn off when the highs are turned on and the highs had to warm up. Well thats about 5 plus seconds that I just had no usable light, and that was unacceptable to me. When I want brights its because I need the light immediatley and sure as H___ not total darkness. I was about ready to remove the HID high beam sets and put the stock ones back in when my friend found this relay for his truck (a 99 model) The problem was that this model truck (and many others) do not use all 4 lamps at any time. We both installed this relay kit and are both good to go. It seams a little pricy and you could make it yourself for a lot less, but, Its well made in USA-Ft Worth,TX from automotive grade materials and seals and was a snap to install. I'll take that trade because I dont want any hoaky looking taped up crimped BS under my hood that could fail and cause me to wreck, plus, If I ever wanted to remove the whole setup back to stock its no big deal. Now when I hit the high beams I still have the lows running giving the highs time to heat up and burn down the road. What a difference. I dont do many reviews but this one deserves the praise.

Great product. Simplified the wiring.
Very easy to install. Took longer to get the truck into the garage all the way and close the door than to install. Solid unit. Love the brightness of it. The only thing I am not fond of it the spliced clips. May redo those in the future.

Nice quality
Works good, but had to use a different ground location than the instructions said to. And i used weather proof butt connectors instead of the ones provided

Great product but over priced for what it is
The lights work great. The high beams always reached out and lit up the road... except in close to the truck. Going up and down hills, the high beams were not always the best choice to provide the best light, now I can really light up all the road completely. I wish I would have bought these sooner. I recieved the kit quickly and in good shape. I didn't notice until I started to install, but the splice components they sent in the kit required a male spade terminals and I recieved female spade terminals instead. I replaced these with parts I had on hand. I also used dielectric grease to help prevent corrosion and did the best I could wrapping with rubber splicing tape and 3M electrical tape to attempt to make the connection as waterproof as I could. It is pricey for what it is, a relay and a fuse holder with short pieces of wire. If I would have thought of it, I could have done it myself for under $10 easily. But it is a nice kit if you don't have any electrical experience.
