Moving from upscaled 4K plastic cameras to 4K aluminium cameras, you can easily see and feel the difference. It feels solid. Images are amazing and the colour night vision is something else (see picture). My old upscaled 4K cameras had most settings greyed out and unable to change default settings. This 4K camera lets you change many setting, allowing you to adjust pictures settings away from default. Video analytic is limited to advanced settings of face recognition and human and vehicle detection. It does have audio detection and privacy zones from the basic analytic but that’s it. Unfortunately if you want features like PID, LCD, SOD, PD, FD, CC you’ll need to get 885/886 cameras as the 887 doesn’t support these features. For me, I think I would like those features on the 887. But according to Swann rev2 NVR 2020 manual, to use face recognition and human and vehicle feature, the other features have to be disabled. Shame really.I didn’t try the two way audio feature so can’t comment on that. But the microphone is very good at picking up sounds. Spotlights are bright even at 50% brightness. But we’re I live the street lights provide plenty of light so spotlights aren’t a must have feature. Nice for lighting up to way to the rubbish bin and frightening possible would be opportunists. But I prefer to turn the lights off as the night colour vision is great.Does it do what you want it to do is the question. Yes I’d recommend the 887 if Analytic features aren’t needed. Yes I’d recommend the 4K images, features, colour night vision and the ability to change many settings. But I think I want to try the 885/886 basic analytic features that it doesn’t have...I think you’ll be very pleased with the images from this camera.

After having problems with an inexpensive unit, I decide to buy a decent product with a 'name'.This Swann kit seemed to be just the ticket, although a bit on the expensive side.Although bought in February, I didn't get the system installed and running for a few weeks. Initially impressed with the image quality but not so impressed with the noise.After 11 months operation (and a few weeks out of its warranty) the NVR completely died.I contacted customer support and after about 6 weeks, the only help I got amounted to "Have you tried switching it off and on again"Very poor for a brand name. I will not be buying Swann againNow looking for a third party NVR compatible with Swann cameras.

Purchased this dec 2021 but didnt get it installed until summer 2022, its replaced an old swann DVR system i had for many years that was fantastic but didnt have sound or colour night vision. After a lil incident i decided i needed sound so decided on this system. I have a few lil problems, but i think thats because i havent finished setting it all up yet, im getting too many notifications etc, but its something i will eventually get around to.The only thing i would change about the system if i could would be how noisy it is, i didnt notice it at first as it was summer and i had 3 fans on day and night, but now its gone chilly and the fans are switched off i can really hear it quite loud (my daughter thought it was a plane over the house lol).What i am saying is, if you dont mind the noise then deffo give this system a try, its expensive but you get what you pay for.

It's ok, but the image quality could be better, and it's a shame it can't do 4k at 60fps (only 30).Night vision is ok, and it does have the PIR lights, which helps the image, and hopefully descourages any potential thief's...It's a bit noisy, and there is no web interface, it's either the phone app or connected to a TV.It's easy to install (provided you are able to drill holes in walls for the cables), but the cameras have a power connector that is not required and it's water proof, nor it comes with any cover...But happy with the system overall

Swann 4k camera's are good, but dealing with Swann has been a nightmare when I had a faulty camera! after weeks of communications with Swann, I got nowhereLuckily I remembered I bought the cameras through Amazon, got in touch at 6pm and had a new camera delivered by 12 noon the next day

I was fairly happy with what was quite an expensive purchase, setup is easy and quality is pretty good.However within a couple of months the fan had become ridiculously noisy. That's not me being fussy, its genuinely louder than my microwave.Another month or so and I started getting Hard Drive warnings pop up. Support suggested formatting and that fixed it for a short period. Now, just out of warranty and its completely hit and miss whether it will detect the hard drive or not.If you cant rely on a security camera to be functional, its pretty much worthless.

I have just purchased again Swann security camera as these are the latest with thermal heat detection and with built in spotlight the quality is the best on the market and colour vision at night and 4K very sharp and you can read the car number plate and the alarm is very loud it too good
