Eye Opening
Wonderfully written book about the journey from one side of the fence, to the other. I was loathe to put it down and as soon as I was done, I needed more information. I bought, The Walls Are Talking by Abby Johnson the next day. I also subscribed to her YouTube channel. I first stumbled across Abby after watching an interview that she did on Louder with Crowder. Before reading this book, I was pro-life. After reading her books, I realize that saying I'm pro-life isn't enough. Change doesn't come from people who sit idly by and keep their opinions to themselves. I have been inspired by her story to become more actively involved, and I plan to do this through prayer, volunteerism and speaking up for the voiceless. No longer, when someone I know personally says that they are pro-choice, will I stay silent and not challenge their views. It doesn't help them, and it doesn't help the unborn or their mothers. However, I also have a new perspective on the mothers and workers in the abortion industry. They are not the enemy. They are just blind to the truth and they need our prayers and love for their eyes to be opened.

This book is the awakening. The beginning of peace.
I was, frankly, afraid to read this book. I didn't know if I could bear to face what was in it. I want to thank Abby Johnson for her incredible courage and compassion in writing it. There is no doubt in my mind that she has and will continue to change countless lives because of it. She has changed mine. God bless you, Abby. I got through it. I can finally--finally--face the truth, and begin to heal. To my sisters and brothers: the truth will set you free.

I did not agree with much of it
Her experience with the abortion of the 13 week old fetus was horrible and I would probably feel the same way. I would not have an abortion at 13 weeks, but that is not my decision to make for another woman. I have nothing against early abortions and yes, sometimes they are necessary for medical and emotional reasons. Making abortion illegal again will never stop it. Women are not going to stop having abortions. My own grandmother tried to abort my jumping off a refrigerator. We will go back to back alley and coat hanger abortions and no fetuses are going to be saved. A women who does not want a pregnancy WILL do what she needs to, regardless of the laws. Sometimes there is abuse involved, rape etc. It is cruel and a violation of human rights to try and force women to carry to term. Religion has no business in politics, so I don't care what your religious beliefs are. You don't push them on others. The majority of women who have had abortions do not regret them, so that is another lie they tell you. I knew plenty of them who did and there is no regret.

Abortion — 20th-21st Century Evil
New York, Rhode Island, and Virginia just signed laws allowing the killing of innocent life as he/she is being birthed. This is our Holocaust, a blemish on our culture. God will not be mocked. United States of America will pay for the sin of condoning innocent life in and outside the womb. This story is the story of redemption for someone who came to her senses and realized that taking the life of a child doesn’t make another life better it only complicates it.

I couldn't put the book down!
I am a slow reader, but I read this book in 2 days, I could not put it down. I have heard Abby on CDs, radio talk shows, seen her on TV and talked to her briefly at the March for Life a few years back. She is an amazing woman who taught me that when I am walking in the wrong direction, God will show me the right direction and put people in my life to help me through my CONVERSION. With the movie Gosnell out last winter and "Unplanned" the movie opening in theaters March 22, 2019, hopefully this book and her movie will show the true horrors of abortion. Her story is worth reading. I don't read books for "entertainment", I read books to learn. If you choose to, you, too, can learn.

Beautifully written book with heart! Read it and and love it!
This book touched me deeply. I am and have always been pro life. I never thought of those pro choice as having a heart. Abby Johnson has shown us in this book the other side that I didn’t know much about. It’s amazing what can happen when we let God take control and scary, too. He had a plan for her and she wasn’t aware that he would use her to further the pro life movement. We all have our own convictions on different causes and don’t think that the other side does too. Thank you Abby for this book, it opened my mind and heart! May God continue to work through you and each of us for the good of mankind. It should be a must read for every pro lifer. I am going to look for this organization right now and donate.

Compelling and life changing. I wish I'd read it earlier in life
The book was well written and was frank and revealing. Every demographic would benefit by reading this book . If you want to learn about both sides of the abortion issue and if you want to understand why an abortion is the taking of a human life , this is an excellent source . That Abby Johnson intimately knows both sides of "the fence" makes this book invaluable .

Great Book!
This book was hard to put down. It was well written and her story is fascinating. She tells about starting out as a volunteer at Planned Parenthood and moving up to be the director. In her journey from volunteer to director she starts to question her views on abortion. Because of her changing views on abortion it causes her a lot of turmoil in her career and personally.

Interesting to read Abby's story, well written. It's good to read it from the pro-life side but still 100% pro-choice.
I'll declare my bias right now I am pro-choice. I'm used to reading books which largely support pro-choice or are neutral. However ever aware of confirmation bias I took the plunge. I chose this one on the basis that the protagonist had at least some appreciation of the pro-choice argument even though it was clear to me that she never fully embraced it, preferring to turn a blind eye to the reality that abortion did come as a part of the other services the clinic offered and not merely a side-line. It was noted that author spoke respectfully of her former colleagues and friends even though their parting was on dreadful terms eventually ending up in the courtroom. As an atheist the frequent bible references were not unexpected but for me didn't add any weight to her views. I also found the last two chapters a bit repetitive but otherwise it was well-written. Her reaction on the closure of the clinic was a bit questionable. I fully appreciate that for her and fellow pro-lifers this was a huge achievement but as someone who worked in reproductive rights she came across as pretty naïve failing to acknowledge the reality whilst the clinic had closed women will still seek and find abortions. More recently women in the USA are heading to Canada with very progressive abortion laws and they are also heading to Mexico for the commonly used medical abortion pill. Abortions never stop, they just move. It was the only pro-life book I could envision reading as an atheist as it's references to God sprinkled the chapters, whilst most flood the pages and I did find Abby's story interesting and overall I think she came across as a decent a likeable person. I did not think for one minuet it would change my stance pro-choicer and at no time did it make me question my values or beliefs.

Very interesting and helpful book
I could hardly put this book down.It is so interesting and well-written. I admire Abby's honesty in admitting her own faults and failings and laying her emotions bare.It also is a very helpful book in terms of encouraging pro-life people to view pro-choice people with dignity, compassion and understanding, whilst not compromising Abby's now firmly pro-life stance. It was really interesting to see what the things were that God used to cause Abby to become pro-life.

It helped me understand both sides of the abortion debate better, how people on both sides can be driven ...
Fascinating account of Abby's journey from Pro-choice to pro-life. It helped me understand both sides of the abortion debate better, how people on both sides can be driven by compassion for the woman. But also how ultimately it was realising that there are 2 human beings involved in each "procedure " that changed Abby's life. I highly recommend for people who want to understand the motivations of those who work on both sides of the "fence".

Somewhat not as I expected
One cannot fault the marketing of this book, I would never usually spend so much, I was drawn in by the author having vast experience at a facility. Another point that got me was this talk of the ultrasound experience, how it was life changing. I'm not sure if I missed it, but essentially the focus was, "I was called in to do something, that moment changed my life." I bought the book as I know some (most) women, struggle a lot, if a friend or relative were in this situation, I would hopefully be of some use. One of my favourite sayings is basically, dont judge others until youve walked in their moccasins. I wanted to know what happened that was so bad, she gave up her career that she had for nearly a decade. I hoped for the stuff most others are not aware of.I have seen YouTube videos where the author gave passionate speeches, these prove to be way more informative than the book. I feel guilty for this review, I just didnt enjoy it and felt disappointed, which is a shame.

In true humane culture the abortion is not only illigal ABORTION SHOULD REMAIN UNTHINKABLE - Abby
It is a true story my favourite kind of fiction. Second) the story is honestly told to their readers. There are big lines as for example, the total damage of the USA, if the abortion remains legal there. And also Abby presents vital personal and familial consequences of pro-choice and pro-life approach. These impact on every day life is described in detail. Each and every person should know those consequances, if they want to live free. The role of forgiveness in convertion and search for truth.

Frustrating propaganda
Naive and blinkered writer fails to answer her own questions. Read this in the spirit of balance but it merely served to highlight failings in the American health system (or lack thereof).

Highly recommend
Heart warming and moving story of Abby Johnson’s time in and departure from a Planned Parenthood clinic. Meeting people with love and not condemnation is one of its strongest messages, as well as repentance, conversion of heart, mercy and forgiveness.

A much needed wake- up call!
I heard about this book on Radio Four's 'Woman's Hour' - as a person that has always been very pro-abortion I thought this would give me an interesting insight into the alternative viewpoint! This is a beautifully honest and well written account of the authors encounter with a pro-life clinic in the U.S. Although I found this book slightly uncomfortable to read at times it gave me a fundamental insight into what abortion really is. The tone of this book comes across as almost like a conversation with one of your friends, perhaps that is the reason that it hits home quite hard. I can honestly say that this book has has a very positive influence on my life and every woman should read this before making any choice thinking that what they are doing doesn't mean anything or matter to anyone - after reading they will understands the implications.

Couldn't put it down
I couldn't put this book down. Not only is this book about one woman's awakening to the reality of abortion but it's also an awakening to God, you can almost feel His presence in the way this lady begins to talk and act in the latter chapters of this book.

wow
This was a really fascinating book, I really recommend reading this really intense book, it is mind exploading how somebody who is pro-abortion on demand for any reason and then has a massive conversion to being strongly pro-life after seeing an ultrasound abortion seeing the unborn child's leg jerk as the abortion instrument struck violently.
