This is a nice tam. I needed a tam to complete my faculty regalia and this arrived quickly. It is adjustable to fit a variety of head sizes, which is nice. The material is soft and "floppy" which feels nice to wear. I wish the short end of the tassel was stitched down, as it tends to stick up in the air if not managed, so I might have to find a solution for that, but otherwise this should serve me well.

I ordered the doctoral tam in both black and blue colors. They both look fabulous! I have dreaded going to the commencement for years, and never liked wearing the (unattractive) gown and tam. But these tams are of fashion style and very high quality. The fabric is substantial and soft. Feels luxurious. So I'm now looking forward to attending the commencement in a week. I often shop for good deals but these are worth every penny with the original price ($29.99). Thank you Amazon for carrying such quality items.

I’m a bigger guy and this cap had a hard time staying on during the ceremony. It looks fine and the quality is good. Consider other options if you have a big head (I mean physically not just because you’re graduating with your doctorate!!).

This velvet doctoral tam is a great quality for the price and a fine fit. I'll look splendid leading in the faculty as Grand Marshal this coming spring.

This was a last minute order, with only 9 days until commencement. I didn't want to spend a lot of money either (I also ordered a robe from the same vendor). This is the 8-sided Tam. The velvet is good quality. There is an inner liner made from a silky material. The tassel is good quality and secured at the top and side. This Tam fits many different size heads by using an adjustable Velcro strap in the back, but is well hidden with the silky material banding. My only complaint is that the Tam didn't hold its shape very well. The points were not pronounced, and the sides flopped down. Overall I would recommend you buy this Tam if you are on a tight budget and only needed it once.

This looked great with my doctoral robe and hood. The tam is easily adjusted for a good fit using a velcro closure.

As a professor, I needed a cap that would hold up to many graduations, and this cap looks well made and I am pretty sure I will use it for many years to come. I appreciate that it came with adjustable velcro.
