Not for critical operation. Keep important data away.
Very light-duty, but may be acceptable and convenient to keep a couple drives together and store a media library or other replaceable data. TV/Console/Home Theatre, etc.Biggest problem: Some 3.5" drive combinations do not initialise (when paired); maybe inrush current too high for the included power adapter.I ordered 2x of these after being very satisfied with the Sabrent USB 3 to sata 2.5" (UASP) cable. However, the units are a hollow shell of molded ABS plastic. So light and resonant that 1/4 of the weight of the unit (~95g) is a weigh-down chunk of steel internally fastened to the base of the unit. It's now obviously a rebadged low-end run of the mill unit. There is no drive dampening whatsoever. The connectors bear the weight and vibration of the drives. All the physical guiding to insert a drive is the actual flimsy flaps, which means damaging the sata connections on the unit or the drives will only be a matter of time (crooked insertion, etc). The drives can also become trapped in the flap door on the way out, easily ripping one of the flaps like another reviewer found out.Electronics are cheap but not too bad. The controller (ASMedia ASM1156) works well enough, but may not be considered 'reliable' in data storage terms.Overall I don't recommend and would not put any critical data through these. Some may think it's worth ~£20, but I dont think it's worth the risk.

Not new clearly showing signs of previous use
Only 1 Star - zero if I couldShowing signs of previous use (scratched, protective film peeling and grime on rubber feet), clearly a returned item, then re-sold as new.Delivery was really slow. Tried to cancel order before dispatch, but was denied, probably because it was used item. Will be returning under Consumer Rights Act, false description.Unit displays no light indicators when powered up to say HDDs are connected or working, so perhaps another reason why it's not New.Please consider carefully before buying, as you may get my return.

Great tool, iffy build quality
After receiving my Sabrent docking station on time, I was pleased with the looks, but a tiny bit concerned about the "doors" guarding the docks which looked a little flimsy. I was right to be concerned because the first 3.5" disk I tried to insert (gently) still broke the hinge of the smallest door. However, I proceeded and fit another 3.5" drive in the other dock and had no problems with the doors. The tool powered up and Win10 immediately spotted it and made the two drives look like normal disks, so everything working as expected. No drivers were needed, no setup, literally just plug&play. The disks were originally formatted with Linux EXT3 and NTFS (normal windows) partitions, and the windows partitiions came up as new drive letters as you should expect. (The linux partitions didn't, but I am guessing a linux O/S would have seen them too.)Happy with the docking station, and hoping the broken door doesn't cause problems in longer use (the connector inside is no longer protected from dust and the elements, so I'll just have to be careful.)

Versatile dock
This is a very versatile piece of kit for cloning or just accessing hard drives from a pc etc, with offline cloning it really is simply a matter of inserting the source and the target drive and pressing the buttonsas a simple dock it allows access to two connected drives at the same time and makes swapping data between drives extremely simple and for the versatility and simplicity of the dock it is easily worth five stars, so why only three then i hear you askhad one of the flaps covering the drive slots not been hanging off when unboxed i would not have hesitated in giving five stars but as it looked as though the covering flap had not been fitted correctly/damaged during assembly i am unable to do so.apart from this issue i am extremely happy with it .
