A Vernier gauge/calliper is one of those tools that doesn't immediately spring to mind when you are buying a set of tools for yourself - and that's why most people haven't got one. However, it can be such a useful addition to your toolbox, especially now that most of them these days are digital, and are so very easy to use. The problem I had was choosing one from the many available. I eventually ordered this one because it had all the features I was looking for, and I liked the fact that it's reassuringly made completely from stainless steel, and feels robust enough to provide many years of faithful service. In contrast, many are just partly made of steel, and only have plastic measuring jaws, which are not so hard-wearing.This calliper will allow you to do external, internal, depth and step measurements. Those metric/imperial measurements are easy to read on the large LCD display. Once you have your measurement, it is possible to 'lock' it in position via a knurled screw. I found that the thumb wheel helps you to smoothly operate the caliper. It is accurate to 0.1mm. By the way, this Vernier gauge is ready to use straight out of its useful and sturdy plastic case. Inside the case is an additional spare battery, together with a precision screwdriver to remove the battery compartment screws. I’m happy with this caliper. This pair has got some satisfying weight to it, very smooth movement and seems very accurate. The tool comes in a good quality plastic case and had a spare battery included i.e. in addition to the one already installed. It provides four way measurement function - external, internal, depth or step measurements. The readings can be displayed in either inches or millimeters. The Zero function can be used at any point, to allow for measuring differences between measurements.

Excellent calipers for the money. A little sticky to slide and the thumb wheel is tighter than expensive brands you may be used to at work. Overall for home use they are adequate.

Useful tool giving measurements in mm and inches well made and easy to use. The LCD Screen is large enough and easy to read. I found it quite accurate for what I use it for and it comes in a good box which also includes an extra battery.

Great set of callipers. They feel really nice to use and have a good weight to them and they don't feel cheap at all. They come in a good case to protect them and a spare battery too. Very happy.

I guess that if you get a brand new Caliper then it's fine. The one the company was clearly a used one. Flat battery, scratched front and worn scale. Returned for a refund

I haven’t used it much yet ,but it seems to be well made and is easy to use. I haven’t really checked the accuracy as it is mostly used for comparison.
