Excel Blades#26 Whittling Blade, 5 Pack, American Made Replacement Hobby Blades

For *years* (decades) I've had a #2 #2 Xacto knife with a whittling blade, used for -- anything really. Models, miniatures, minor self-surgeries (cutting out a splinter, slicing away a patch of dead skin from my foot, etc). Handy knife, but let's be honest, my original is quite dull at this point. Meaning I can still slice myself up horribly, just not like I could in the early days. And so? I wanted to get a new blade. And a new handle, because I still like the old knife, why have one when you can have 2 for twice the price? And I didn't know until later, the old knife had no easy hope of ever giving up it's blade, fused, but whichever. I ordered several things from Amazon, all Amazon-fullfilled items, and these blades which had to be shipped separate. Two points worthy of comment, I feel -- 1) Yes, this *WILL* work with Xacto, but I'm thinking you need the heavier/larger #2 handle -- that's what I did/worked out just-fine. And 2) I just knew I'd be annoyed with a "plain" blade knife for a bit before these blades showed up. Amazon (generally) sends stuff nice 'n fast, after all, and these were coming from another source. Well? This other source *is faster* than Amazon. No lie, Amazon's stuff was quick, but they outran Amazon by a day. Blades in a *box* on my doorstep even. Order a $10 vagina/mouth masturbation sleeve, that ends up getting left in an envelope in your mailbox -- knifeblades get rushed in a proper box, to your door -- The world amuses me. *Great knife blades*. Nevermind if it hurts to walk over them being so very, very sharp. Use care when whittling on your feet... (And play Stephen Lynch's "Whittling Man" while ya do it!)

These work great for my application. I am using them to cut off expanding foam (trim to the top edge of the space). They are long so they work pretty well. I need to get good at sharpening them so that I can save some money!

I just started using replaceable blade knives for carving and these work great. They are great for light carving. They are very sharp but their length allows a little too much flex for detail carving. They are a great addition to my carving knives. Will continue to order.

Excel Blades #26 Whittling Blade: Looked great when they arrived, and the size and shape has been handy. But rusted even when kept in a desk drawer in the house. Other blades I keep in the same location aren't rusting.

I use these type of blade in my shop a lot. They are razor sharp and inexpensive.
