Most readers can skip this one.
This book did little past introducing me to a few Moslem phrases. Two stories in one. One about a dis functional family with an overlay of anti-Muslim prejudice. The second interwoven into the first of extreme anti-Muslim prejudice. Not well sketched. Story telling seemed flat to me.

LOVED IT!!!
After I got The Beauty of Your Face I could not put it down. It was a beautifully written story told throughout time, showing Afaf, the main character, as a dynamic and ever changing person. As a Muslim woman her experience was very relatable but I recommend that everyone reads this book, Muslim or not!

Poignant
The majority of this story is a coming of age tale about Afaf Rahman, a daughter to Palestinian immigrants who came to America. Sahar Mustafah has composed an emotional and touching tale that will render you speechless. It tackles the issues of racism, prejudice, family and religion. We get to see through Afaf's eyes how some people perceive her because of who she is and her religion. These parts I found quite moving, it's something I don't come across in my daily life. And, it's good to read what people have to endure.I am not a religious person at all, and because of this the parts where she refers to finding herself and saying that her life was better because she had found religion just didn't resonate with me, and I couldn't connect fully. But, this didn't detract from the brilliant writing.I think The Beauty of Your Face is a book to read to open your eyes and be educated as to what is going on outside your little bubble.

What an incredible book!!!
This is the best book I have read in a looong time. The huge issues it tackles has me comparing it to the likes of Jodi Picoult’s Small Great Things and A Spark of Light. Being a Muslim raised in the West, many parts of this book resonated with me. I highly recommend that you read this book to gain a deeper understanding of how Muslims live in a world of misunderstanding and hate and how our faith gets us through. What a human, emotional thoroughly relatable book!! Well done Sahar Mustafah. I am a huge fan.

The Beauty of your Face
As a white British woman, I came to this book knowing something but not much about Islamic culture, and what I do know tends to be linked to British Pakistani muslims so this was highly informative.I followed the story of Afaf and her family and felt a kinship. I’d recommend this book to practically everyone.

Beautiful
A really beautiful book. Really helped me to understand why my granddaughter chose to wear a hijab. Every white person should read this to get an insight into other ways of living. In England we have such awful Islamaphobia, this is a real educational tool. Thanks n you for writing this

Absolutely amazing
I don't think there was anything in this book I disliked. I loved all of it. I cried, laughed and felt uncomfortable. I learned new things and remembered old feeling I already had. What a beautiful book, I'm so glad I bought it and will probably read it again. I finished it in 3 sittings because I just couldn't stop reading. This is the first novel I've read in about 6 years and it has sparked my love for it again. A must read Muslim and non Muslim. I'm a Muslim woman and this really touched my heart, in ways I can't describe. So much of it related to me. I think the author absolutely smashed it! ❤ ❤
