Surprisingly sturdy
I live in "the land of horizontal rain", Co. Donegal in Ireland, so while this umbrella looked well-made and came beautifully packaged, I was skeptical about its ability to handle windy weather. However, I tried it out today in strong wind, and it was great! No problems at all, it's surprisingly strong. The rim of the umbrella folds up rather than down so I didn't take any unnecessary risks as presumably if the wind got under it too much it would fold upwards, so I just made sure to point the umbrella into the wind and it managed better than I could have hoped. There are a few down sides that could be better designed, for example the way the material is attached to the ribs seems a bit flimsy, and the strap that holds the closed umbrella together is stitched onto the material instead of attached in a more reinforced area like a rib, which means over time it could rip especially because the umbrella is quite bulky and the strap has to go round quite tightly, which is bound to cause wear on the stitching. It's also too bulky for the average handbag. Despite these little drawbacks, I definitely recommend this umbrella for people who need to use an umbrella in windy weather! It would also make a great gift because of the quality of the packaging.

Eventually broke by strong winds.
Lasted a couple of years but eventually broke by strong winds. Some of the metal frames got twisted and that was the end of it.

Broke after a few Uses
I have had this umbrella for a couple years now, only used about 4 times, and one of the arms have snapped in half...It a shame because otherwise it a nice umbrella, quickly open to use and close...

Nice
Most expensive umbrella I've ever purchased and I can't say I regret it! Good heavy, decent quality material. No idea how anyone can say lightweight, you can use this is a weapon (lol) And the trigger mechanism works well; fair warning the umbrella needs to be pushed back into starting position to be opened again; that takes a bit of arm strength; use a wall or the floor.

Not Sturdy, Lightweight nor Value for Money
Far too heavy and like all its predecessors, it suçunbed to the wind and broke within months.
