Best rotary shaver. Using it for one year now. Suddenly was taking longer to shave---needing new Blades. No Problem o. It was like surgery. Three lights on to show the way. Tiny arrow to indicate which way to unlock and then lock up. Now shaves as good as new. Very satisfied with this purchase.

It shaves well and feels much more comfortable on my face than the $30 Norelco I've been using for 16 years. The downside, as everyone says, is that there is no flip-up sideburn trimmer but that is true of all the newer razors so I'm stuck with that. The trimmer works fine, it is just annoying to have to pull off the shaver head to put on the trimmer one then switch it back. Other than that, it looks pretty cool, works well, and lasts 2 weeks on a charge so I like it.I don't see a reason to get a more expensive shaver than this one, especially since I found that replacement shaver heads for some of the more expensive shavers are quite expensive. This one's replacements are not quite as expensive. I've never tried a more expensive shaver than this so I don't know how much better it might work. Remember that I used the cheapest one possible for 16 years and got along just fine. This one is better in that it glides smoother and yanks my hair less (though my old shaver was due for replacement blades again). It shaves me to about the same smoothness and takes about the same amount of time (faster than when my old razor has dull blades, same as when it had newer ones). So really it just feels smoother and that's about it in terms of functional reasons to upgrade from a cheap model.I kinda doubt this will last 16 years like my last one because of the way the head has to be pulled off and put back on and because in general batteries tend to wear down whereas my old one was corded. But we'll see. For now I like it.

After using for about a week, I was ready to write a 5 star review. I really like the fact that I can shave in the shower (not with the water running directly over me, of course) and there are good added features, such as the blade lock and the floating heads do function well. HOWEVER, there are a coupla things you might want to know before you pull the lever on this shaver. 1. Use a good quality gel. I have tried both the heavily advertised and the more premium gels with Aloe, etc. Spend the few extra cents, get the premium. (Don'tuse Harry's).2. The blades didn't last. I do not have a heavy beard and I only shave once a day. I don't know if it's the wet shave that dulls the blades or not, but I am having to order replacement blades after 4 months of use. I had switched to a cheaper gel when I ran out of the good stuff and though I can definitely tell the difference in the shave with the better stuff, it did NOT fully solve my problem. SO, I'm ordering new blades and will do a follow up review. I'm still giving this shaver a 4 star rating because I really like the new routine of being able to shave in the shower and keeping everything clean there versus the way I USED to do it ... in the car! What a mess! PLUS, I just don't like the way a regular blade cuts on my face and I've used 'em all! It might be cheaper to shave with blades, but I want to save face! All in all, this electric shaver does just that!

I bought this item to replace a more expensive, but older model that was in need of new foils and blades. So far I'm not missing the higher-end model. I'm getting a good and quick close shave and the battery charge is holding up for roughly 10 days between charges. The trimmer head works very well. It cost me less to buy this than I would have had to spend on replacing the heads on the older model. Does it shave as close as using a good blade and shaving cream? Nope. But I've never met any electric that could meet that standard.
