Functional, no frills car immersion heater for tea, hot drinks
I looked at a lot of heated cup and car kettle options but very few heated to 100 degrees for tea and they were all incredibly slow to get hot at all (35-45 minutes!). So I went back to what we had in the good old days and bought a car immersion heater.Received this yesterday. It comes in most basic wrapping with no instructions or warnings. Fair enough, it's a simple piece of kit. Took it out to test in the car, there is no indicator light or On/Off switch. So waited a few seconds and put it on my other palm. Suffice it to say it works and I'm an idiot (with blisters to prove it)!So you will also need something to put it on or in after heating your drink as it's super hot... Probably not something to use while driving as if it fell out it would be a serious emergenecy. I think it will heat a mug of liquid very quickly, so easy to make a short pitstop or to use when you're parked up.Now to find a suitable bag to put it in after using which seems essential.

So very slow to heat up. Quicker to find a Costa. Had to return it unfortunately.

After an hour the water was "warm"
It does work (to a degree) however it only pulls 55w so a far cry from the 200w advertised! It does warm the water but don't be expecting to make hot drinks with this. It's quite small though.

So far so good
See a lot of reviews saying this item stopped working after a few uses. Not had that happen yet so my review is based on current experience. Bought this to use camping so that we can heat up water we use to shower with. Cigarette lighter connector means we can plug it into our beauden power station and drop the heating element into a bucket of water that is then used with our portable shower. Water heats up quickly and we are able to have a warm shower instead of with cold water. Very pleased

Saves a fortune on coffee from cafés and service stations when we are out in car2 cups each so 3 stops and it has paid for itselfSo easy just to pop in the glove box
