This is a great little mat and a fantastic idea and my little frenchy tries very hard to use it but unfortunately doesn't have enough of a nose to do a good job. I still let him try however because he does like it so I can guarantee that if your dog has a decent nose he/she will love it.

The media could not be loaded.  Milo was excited the moment I opened this. He is a Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher. Min Pins are diggers! He starts to whine while I hide his treats, he can’t wait to get to it. This keeps him entertained for an hour and after he is satisfied like he just went for a walk. He’s a picky boy when it comes to his toys, I was weary as this was his first snuffle mat, it did not disappoint! I did see on a particular review that this mat was hard to clean and it had nasty residue and gunk left over from treats. Not the case. If you’re concerned about that I would stay away from the softer small training treats and use bigger treats that are tougher that can be cut up into little pieces and hidden. I use both, you can use a wet washcloth with warm water and clean off any treat residue. Every day after it’s used I just take it outside and shake off any crumbs. Not too sure about washing this in the washing machine, I would probably just hand wash it and put it outside to dry. Easy enough. Milo likes to put his big greasy bones on the mat and enjoy them while laying on it. So trust me, it’s not hard to keep clean if I can get that oil from the bones off of it easily. It’s durable, my little guy tears apart all his toys, you can’t expect any dog toy to last forever. But we’ve had it for about a month and so far no problems. Although that squirrel attached to the logs did no chance . That squirrel easily became a favorite of his. Do your little buddy a favor and try it out, you won’t regret it. I’ll be buying more snuffle mats as we so enjoyed this one. Just for reference, Milo is no bigger than 7 pounds. But it’s a great beginners mat, my best friend has an older English bulldog who easily weighs between 60 and 65 pounds. Suggested this mat for him to get him more active while inside. He’s older but he’s always been a lazy boy, very very loved though 😌 this mat got him off the couch and active. Treats will encourage any dog enough in my opinion, but he actually works for it. So it’s a versatile product when you’re considering size. Hope this helps!

This is not for my border collie/German shepherd puppy. She's 6 months old. Her nose & snout are too big to get in the pockets to get the treats out. And the mat doesn't stay down either. I had to hold it still. She did, however, love the squeaky raccoon toy in the the log so I can't return this. Maybe I'll see if my kitties could use it.

My puppy loves hunting for her treats in this mat. We put dry kibble in it also, but she hunts out the treats first, eats some of the food and leaves the rest of the food. Lol

This has many spots to his treats for your dog. Mine loves it! The little squirrel toy is a bonus. This is an fun mat (not heavy or super sturdy) that I’m sure your dog will love to hunt on, and if they’re anything like mine, drag around the room!

My puppy plays with this for hours. He loves the raccoon that came with it and the crinkly noises that it make. Only down fall is that when washed the felt in it became really fuzzy. Not very durable but my puppy loves it

This is larger and more durable than the ruffle mat. It’s much more complicated than other mats we have, even the other snuffelz mat we have. The loops on the two flowers are very tricky, and so are the squares. I could see a more assertive dog ripping them in aggravation.The stump is the real reason we got this, and it is great. My dog enjoyed pulling out the squirrel and sticking her snout in the log to get food. I also unstuffed an old toy squirrel and filled it with some food and put it inside the log. That was very fun. I think it took Ginger 20-30 minutes to find everything. She had a blast.

This provides about 30 minutes of activity/stimulation for my 3 year old ch/rat terrier mix. I've used it for several months now, and its still as entertaining for him as it was when I first introduced it. Its also durable and fairly easy to clean.
