#6000 grit stone
Very soft, has dished more than I would expect, but has a finer grit than the #8000 stone that I bought at the same time. Not impressed by either stones.

Not sure it’s 120
Product looks nice. Arrived well packaged and stone didn’t need much flattening. I bought the 120 to re profile some old kitchen knives, however, it just didn’t have the bite a 120 should have. Actually felt more like 320. I got there eventually but in the process removed quite a lot of material from the stone. Consequently, I don’t think it’ll last long. Not bad value for price I suppose, compared to bigger brands.Update: after re profiling 2 kitchen knives it’s significantly worn, and will need lapping to half original thickness 😡

8000 grit
The only good thing about this stone is that is longer and wider then other sharpening stones. The grit is definitely not 8000, my knife is less sharp after using the 8000 grit stone to polish the cutting edge, doesn't sound like a 8000 grit stone more likely a 600-800 grit stone

Best sharpening stone
The original stones that came with my sharpener went not the best. They were unmounted thin and one arrived broken. These mounted on an aluminium base are completely different. If you want sharp knives these are well worth the price.

Top quality stone
The stone is mounted on a base which fits the knife sharpening system perfectly. Have not used the stone to sharpen a blade yet.

You get what you pay for
I made a significant upgrade from a Riuzin pro to a Tsprof sharpener. The stones with the Riuzin were OK but bought Bacher stones in 1k,3k, 6 and 8k with a leather strop loaded with 1 micro diamonds. With the Riuzin I was able to get a razor edge quite easily.I decided to take sharpening a lot more seriously and invested in a microscope and TSPROF Blitz as was interested in achieving mirror finish hair whittling edges. The sharpness was impressive but the finish not so good. Investigation under a microscope uncovered the 3K had a much better finish than the 6k!( see photos) if I had to grade them it would be 1k, 6k, 8k then 3k.(3k 8K having very similar finishes)The quality of Bacher stones is great for price but the grit rating is suspect, comparing to internet pictures the JIS rating does not correspond to the equivalent F rating with premium stones. a JIS 8k is equivalent to a F2K with to the naked eye should achieve a mirror finishI am going to keep these stones and use them on daily kitchen knifes but invest in premium stones such as Venev/edge pro/ shapton - these stones however are not at the same price point as Bacher!EDIT:Having just purchased premium Edge Pro stones, their 650 grit (equivalent to JIS 360) has a scratch pattern comparable only to the Bacher 3000! - the Bachers are OK and will use them as medium - fine stones but there is no way you will get a mirror finish even with their finest stone
