He’s a big boy
Love it! It’s exactly as extra as I wanted it to be.Whilst I’ve been a player for years, strahd will be my first foray into DMing. My thoughts on it are:-The box really is quite large so I’ve yet to find a good place to store it.-on a similar vein- the special matching coffin-shaped strahd’s stat block is very cool, love the art, but also incredibly big, and I’m not sure how user friendly it will be? Rather hard to hide behind a dm screen.-everything in the box has is nestled in 2 cutouts. There are ribbons in each cutout to help you lift the items out without having to claw at the sides and risk damaging the items.-The art throughout is wonderful and very in keeping.-I love that there are enough of each postcard design that you can invite players to play (if there was only one of each I’d be tempted to hoard them as a collector and completionist)-The cards in the tarroka deck in this set are larger than the cards you can buy separately. I bought a friend the stand alone tarroka deck for Christmas and to be honest I prefer the size of the standalone. The ones in this edition I find too large to hold comfortably and use.- I like the separate handouts and maps.-I like that the monster manual and tarroka deck booklets are both separate. It feels like I can have several things open at once to refer to quickly instead of having to flip in the book more than necessary.-it’s my first DM screen and I think the art is lovely. Half of the cheat sheet is strahd specific which is nice for strahd however I don’t know what info these sections are replacing for a normal DM screen to know how severely this limits the usefulness of this screen outside of strahd campaigns.

I am in love with DnD!
I have given this product a 5 out of 5 Stars. I would normally only give 4 stars to anything as I feel that the fifth star is more to do with personal bias towards the product. To give a bit of backstory, my friend recently introduced me to Dungeons and Dragons last year and I am now hooked on it, I love it, I cannot stress how much I love it. I understand why this is one of the most popular dnd stories, it is well written with a brilliant protagonist and antagonist, the villain has been very well developed and has a great backstory.I would personally recommend this to any D&D fan not only does this product come with the story but it also comes with it a tonne of accessories which make the story more immersive.

Really cool set
Got this for my partner, looks like a great campaign but haven’t played it yet. Accessories with this are cool.My one issue is that the book that comes with this set is not hard cover. I must have missed it in the description, I didn’t think to check. All of our other D&D books are hard back so it is a bit irksome for me. But I will still rate this 5 star because it is a great set, and it shouldn’t be marked down for my own mistake.

Nice collectable but...
The box is beautiful a stunning show piece if you have space to display it. The contents however are not that useful in running curse of strahd. The maps are marked with DM information so its better to use maps that can be found online for free. The handouts of letters are ok but again better versions can be found online. The oversized tarokka cards are very nice but because of their limited use, not necessary. I personally prefer the soft back and split module books, but definitely not a must have. So the box itself is the best feature, and as such curse of strahd revamped is only worth it if you want a display item and you can get it cheap in a sale. That said it is one of my most treasured DnD items.

A New Look for A Classic
I'll start off with the bad. When I received my copy in the coffin-shaped box, I noticed that a single corner of the box was torn. I believe that this tear wasn't from poor quality but rather from weight shifting during transit and putting pressure on a weak point of the box, causing it to tear. It isn't that big of a deal to me personally but should be noted as a possibility. As for everything else in this box set, I see it as a major improvement on the standard book. The adventure is split into multiple paperback booklets, with each having different information for the adventure. Although the paperback design may make it more susceptible to wear and tear over time, I find it much easier to leaf through the paperbacks to find the information that I need.Since the material is broken down into booklets, it usually makes it easier to find what I need. I can have the adventure booklet open to set the scene while I flip through the monster booklet for the beast they might encounter. It's a welcome change to the usual appendices which I deal with in my standard hardback books.Unfortunately, it can still prove confusing to find certain information, as a certain NPC may only be described in one booklet, but not the other. This is a relatively minor complaint but I did find it strange at times. The other added materials are very nice too. Having a graphic of Strahd is a unique bonus as I could use it to show my players what they're up against, all while having a quick reference to the updated statblock on the other side. The map of Barovia is very nice and seems to be quality, although the map of Castle Ravenloft on the flipside is quite confusing as it shows different perspectives without fully annotating the changes between those perspectives. Also included are postcards which I found to be a unique touch for the adventure and a fun twist to formally invite players. The tarroka deck was also a welcome addition as it was included with a guide to using and reading the Deck. Although these are minor touches, they provide another level of immersion into a wicked horror adventure.I do want to quickly touch on the DM screen included in this box set. As someone who has made a small habit of trying to collect various DM screens, I have to say that this is my favorite screen by far. The colors are extremely pleasant and fit the atmosphere and the art is absolutely amazing. For the DM, it is an indispensable trove of information that makes running the adventure that much more of a blast.Overall, this box surpassed my expectations and, in some cases, blew them out of the water. There are some changes that took a while to grow on me before I fully appreciated them, such as having paperback booklets as opposed to a special cover hardback book, but in the end, these tweaks are unique and fun changes. I highly recommend this box set for any DM, aspiring DM or player looking to dip their toes into this amazing adventure!

Not perfect but overall amazing
Definitely the best and most immersive RPG campaign I have ever played. When running this story as a DM I’ve modified it on some parts to make the story more modern, quirky and not so serious. With a bit of imagination the book gives you great tools for this. Unlike most people, I actually prefer the soft cover book better. My only criticism would be:- No map of Barovia without spoilers. This should have definitely been included in the box as it makes a massive difference on the game play. I recommend getting the Barovia map set or printing one yourself.- The creatures of horror booklet should have all the monsters featured in the campaign. This is simply bad usability design.- Postcard handouts are useless and the artwork could be nicer. Bit too cartoonish.- Tarokka deck booklet is also a waste of paper and ink. Seriously why weren’t the card reading instructions included here? :DThe box itself is beautiful, which is probably responsible for a lot of the printing costs. It’s a gorgeous collectors item and handy for storing and having the game on the go (not really backpack size though). There’s also some extra compartments underneath to store dice and figurines etc. Some of the maps are pretty big so I got a D&D adventure grid to use with this (dry-erase).I love the Tarokka deck and especially the artwork on them. Some people online have complained about the size of the cards but nah, just perfect. The maps provided for the DM are overall really nice. This item was really overpriced here on Amazon (110 euros), but I guess it’s due to current availability. Still no regrets for getting this though. If you’re having hard time finding this item, another option could be getting only the book, the Tarokka deck and the map set. However the price will be pretty close to the box set. The map set was sold out everywhere and for me this was a deal breaker for getting the box.Either way it’s an amazing campaign, cool box set and with the right company will provide you with plenty of fun DnD sessions for years to come.

To die for
Phenomenal set. Packaged and presented phenomenally. I really appreciate having the adventure book and monster apendix as sepearte pieces. The most important thing here is if you don't already own the adventure then you should purchase this set without a doubt. Or if you really just want a couple of additional pieces to go with your original. I'd probably still buy it if I had the original. If only for the map of castle ravenloft. The taroka deck is to die for, it's so gorgeous. The books are soft covers. The DM screen has a mix of regular details from the standard DM screen a long with a handful of Barovia specific tables. But the artwork on it is truly amazing.Having the castle ravenloft on a large poster page makes navigation so much easier. The handouts are also fun additions that are just as pristine as the rest of the set.
