Fel-pro never disappoints.
Perfect fit and seal for the R53 1st gen Mini. If you have the transmission out of the car for any reason, you'd be crazy not to pop a new one of these in for insurance.

Does what it's supposed to do.
I recently did a clutch job on my 2006 Mini Cooper S. This rear main seal is not listed as a part for the Mini but it works perfectly. Use patience and caution when installing it. So far so good.

Rediculous
The rear main engine seal was literal in clear plastic nothing protecting it from damage nothing!!!. The package the manufacturer sealed it in. No protective package bible wrap nothing this is a vital component for an engines oil to stay in the engine not to mention the engine and transmission have to be taken out to replace this part so if it is damaged or out of round it's useless and the engine and transmission have to be taken back out which is $1000 at min to replace this part! Terrible will not buy again from this seller
