Fabulous 2nd book in wonderful series
The 2nd installment of City Spies does not disappoint. If anything, the reader grows to love the characters and their inter-relationships even more. Excitement from beginning to end with these young agents along with their adult "supervisors." Starts off with a ship hijacking, which leaves clues and threats for the rest of the novel. Mr. Ponti also weaves in fascinating history and geography throughout the novel. He doesn't go on forever with those details. Concise and entertaining. The 5 spies grow with each episode. They are flawed yet endearing. As are the adults. Can't wait for book 3!And I'm a senior citizen who adores well-written YA or middle reader books. And Mr. Ponti is one of the best writers in that genre. Highly recommended!

Exciting Middle Grade Adventure
This is the second book in a current series of 5. There is constant adventure, but also themes of family and friendship. I loved reading it as an adult and my boys love it as well.

Totally delivered!
Holy moly, this sequel delivered in every way imaginable! The author has crafted such and interesting team of characters, each with distinct personalities and the interaction between the team helps drive the narrative. Brooklyn and Sydney's relationship is complex, yet totally relatable. Action and intrigue abound, as you would expect from a spy novel, all while coming across as totally believable, which is tough to do given the premise revolves around an MI-6 team of kid operatives. I'm already eagerly awaiting the next installment!

Kept my 8 year oldโs interest! Great for kids between 8 to 10.
This is a wonderful series for children. We have all the available books in the series, and this one was as good as the first. The author often introduces new concepts and explains them. We also do a lot of googling terms or references that my child doesnโt know. Highly recommended.
