I've used the longer leads in the past but love this shorter version

We entered our Irish Wolfhound in his first dog show and ordered several show leads because we weren’t sure what would work best for the dog or us. This was the winner! We looped the end through his black snake chain collar, so there were no distracting silver clips involved. This black lead became invisible when the excess length bunched easily in my small hand while in the show ring, where he took first place.

I went for this Resco lead based on the name. It is a short lead and great for showing a dog. However, the lead feeds through the eye of the small loop. This is simple in function, but the collar loop does not relax fully when you let up on the lead. It keep pressure on the dog and does not give the right signal. I could add a ring to the loop, that would make is work better, but why buy something you have to modify?

I purchased a collar and this lead and was so glad to find them on Amazon. They are getting difficult to find at dog shows because they are more costly than the competition but they are so worth it. The lead can be gathered into your hand and stay gathered until you are ready to release it. No more loose hanging leads dangling down and distraction from your dog or making you look like you are out of control. The lead will not cut your hand yet still looks good. The Resco's have been my favorites for almost 20 years and I was happy to replace mine for my new giant breed show pup. Also, the loop leads are wonderful because there is no hardware to catch the eye or break at that crucial moment. You are in control. I just love them. Donna

I bought this to travel with as I have been asked by TSA to let my dog walk alone through the machines with no metal on. It is impossible to fine a collar and leash without any metal. Serioulsy, they want me to let my dog completely free in a tense situation!!! This would solve the problem and work fine

I have been trying to find a simple show lead and bought a couple to see what would work best. I paired this lead with a serpentine collar for my 6 month old Gordon setter and it is perfect. I love the feel of it in my hands, very light weight but able to hold a 50 lb puppy. I absolutely plan on buying more of these.

Use these for showing our border terrier.Hurts my hands though, so great for showing, sucky for anything else.

Save your money and buy a shoelace.
