Just a dumb gimmick, right? Wrong.
I kept avoiding this because it seemed like so much of a gimmick. I mean, i know how to glue wood. While making some cutting boards for some gifts, on a whim I threw this in with another order. What a surprise! It really does work, and cut my glue-up time in half and then some. It really speeds things up, and I’ve had much better results. And when I forget to clean it afterward (because we all have three projects going at the sametime, right?), the glue peels eight off. It’s a little more of a pain to peel it off because of the texture, so washing in warm water is ideal. It’s a little small, so it works for smaller glue-ups, but might not be great for big flat laminations. If you are hesitating, just throw it in with an order and I think you’ll be glad you did.

Silicone tray is a breeze to clean. Cut your glue time in half.
This roller set has changed my glue game! With one quick pass, the glue is all smeared and ready to clamp. The roller has grooves for the glue to travel in those hard to reach spots that helps glue get to all the spots without a-lot of blowout. Spillage was not an issue. The silicone tray was easy to clean. Just let the glue dry and come back the next day and peel the glue out. No more cleanup needed. The same goes for the roller. Great value and quality made. I Did not go wrong with this purchase.

Fix with a washer. Could have been perfect.
Some say the roller sticks and binds at the curve of arm. That is true and a fix is to add a washer to space it out. Thickness of the roller and groove depth is a bit shallow than I’d like it to be a in order to disperse larger puddles without glue creeping into the metal part of the roller. It’s so close to be a good product. Just make the silicone part chunkier.

Worked great.
I read a number of reviews that were negative. But, I needed something for a project and thought if it only works once that's all I need. However it worked flawlessly. The roller turned, it spread glue just fine. It's not falling apart and clean up left me with a tool that looks and works just like it did out of the box.

Works OK, but overpriced, given inferior construction of handle assembly
When it didn't lock up, the roller did an OK job of spreading glue on my workpieces (edges, in my case). However, I encountered a problem documented by others - the roller sticks/jams when it slides over to the side where roller attaches to the handle (see photo). As you might expect, there is not much friction under the silicone roller when it is riding on a film of glue, so any friction between roller and handle can cause skidding of roller. The metal handle is of cheap manufacture, and lacks a "stop" and washer to reduce binding near the curve of roller handle. I did achieve some improvement by spraying WD-40 inside the roller (there are no bearings).Cleanup is OK, but don't let the glue harden, otherwise you'll be digging glue out of all the grooves. This might not happen if you let the glue dry, but I decided not to chance it.The glue tray is a handy place to rest the roller while you apply a bead of glue to workpieces. Based on other reviews I did not bother to try to fill tray with glue and run roller over it. Not to mention glue dripping off the roller when removed from tray. You can buy silicone molds quite cheaply for things like epoxy casting, hence I concluded that the silicone parts of this set didn't cost a lot to make. The roller size suited my needs, but I would have liked a larger handle.Despite all the negative features, the roller did save me a lot of time - previously I spread the glue with my finger, which required me to wipe it off for every piece glued.

Great little glue tray
This tray has really come in handy for a few woodworking jobs I have used it for, and due to the silicone it is incredibly easy to clean. Even the best wood glues dried on it still pops off with relative ease, though it's still obviously easier to just clean it before the glue dries but I think we all know sometimes you just forget or don't have the time in the moment.I can't say for sure how easily it cleans for other types of glues or paints, but not many things adhere well to silicone, so I imagine it should be fine in most cases unless you are using a solvent made for silicone.
