The Endless Practice: Becoming Who You Were Born to Be

Open Your Heart to Wholeness Mark Nepo in his latest ...
Open Your Heart to WholenessMark Nepo in his latest book writes about how our life journeys are scattered paths leading to glimpses of wholeness when we open our hearts. I was one of the two reactors to Dr. Fredrickson keynote on positivity at the AJHP conference, and talked about how her work had changed the way I approach my cancer journey. I ask her for suggestions for our nurses that must move from patient to patient, carrying the cancer burdens, and yet caring in ways that provide hope. As I started to close the session, and thank her for the science she gave us, my words were covered in tears. Through the tears, I finally closed to the audience of 400+ with, “What will you do different tomorrow?” It was a moment where the depths of my feelings had opened my heart and I had felt wholeness.

I absolutely LOVE THIS BOOK
I absolutely LOVE THIS BOOK, both audio and hardcover. I listen to the audio, and my daughter gave the book to me for Christmas which I truly wanted both audio and hardcover. I will re-read, and re-read. Once looking into moments of joy both as a child and then decades later as I'm older, I'm in touch with what I had in the beginning of life before going to school. The "conditioning years" to "fit" into our society began for me when I started school and by the time I was in High School, I felt that the "live spirit inside me " was gone, no longer in touch with it, my only concern was to be what was expected of me. In hindsight I clearly see how I lost my inner being. This book validates so many truths that I have witnessed in myself and many of my friends.

Excellent , Thoughtful and Delightful to read and ponder.
I use this as part of my daily devotions. It is plain talking, as the author to,each individual. The examples are from his experience and there are opportunities to mentally review and apply to situations in your own life. I am still reading and have found an interesting and thoughtful addition to the age old question, “What and why am I here on this earth and how do I make the most of this experience and leave a positive legacy.

The reality of being
I enjoyed the book; it made me happy and sad. I would read chapters and have hope. Other times I would read it and be sad to realized that there is nothing else in this life but the little moments we live daily. If you are searching for answers the book will help you realize that no one is out there to give them to you and that you have to do the best you can on your own, learn from your mistakes, and simply do it better next time. I do not recommend it if you are depressed; this not a book that will inspire you, but instead good advise to keep on. Four stars because it has a lot of poetry and questions, which is not a style of writing I like but I was pleased with the message.

Beautifully written, incredibly rich and insightful
What a beautiful book. I chose to buy an actual book and I'm glad I did. I often reread the chapter and go back to the previous chapter, finding quotes and poems. Because he's also a poet, his messages are beautifully expressed with his life experiences. He's not only insightful, but also very open to other cultures and philosophies, introduced many poems, quotes and terms that resonate with him. I'd read it every few years and hope to get a better understanding of his messages each time.

Mark Nepo's work will change your life view
I am a huge fan of Mark Nepo's wisdom. If you are looking for a self help book to help you be more successful and make more money go elsewhere. His books are incredibly insightful into the human spiritual self. No quick fixes! If you take the time to hear his messages it will change how you operate in life. It certainly has changed my perspective. Do yourself a favor and watch his interviews on Super Soul Sunday. His first book is Oprah's all time favorite bedside daily reader.

Real. Inspiring. Beautiful.
Right now, this is my favorite spiritual book--and I read a lot of them! Nepo beautifully expresses the high self to which we all aspire while, at the same time, always allows you to come along as best you can and to call that good. His poetic expression of truths are so powerful and memorable--I feel a deep kinship with him through his words. I love this book and return to it all the time.

Read slowly and quietly,so as not to miss anything.
Mark Nepo writes so beautifully that you have to read slowly savoring each morsel, realizing that while enthralled by his artistry, wisdom emerged like something shiney, and wet from the deep to treasure. So many books and so little time. Don't miss this one. Highly Recommended!!!!

Becoming Who you Are
This is a very insightful book which focuses on self knowledge and spiritual growth. It is not a religious book but would appeal to people of any, or no, religion who want to grow spiritually and who want to experience new meaning and depth to life.

This is the first book by Mark I have read, I'm not sure what led me to it, probably a trail of other works, or maybe the book was led to me in a natural progression. I think if I'd read this book several years ago I would simply not have understood it; I may have enjoyed it or got something out of it, but I'd not have known at a deeper level the meaning, the message, the communication; so there is an assumption readers have journeyed some way.....for me, Mark is verbalising the search we are on and the practice we are engaged in and he is doing it in an honest, open and encouraging way. The work is poetic. You can not read it quickly. You slow down to his pace, you start considering each word or group of words letting the meaning soak in, sometimes repeating passages, all the while recognising that what is said is so resonant with one's own experience, so "known", yet never quite so eloquently expressed as here. It will definitely be read again in a year or two. A most enjoyable read.
