FirstMatePet Foods Chicken With Blueberries Dog Food, 14-1/2-Pound

We switched to this food based on a recommendation from a friend of ours. They get it locally in San Francisco, but we couldn't get it in stores here in Milwaukee. They recommended it as our dog was not able to have "regular" puppy food or even "low residue" food from the vet without having digestive issues. We were on the low reside vet food for probably 3-4 months and then said, "there's gotta be something better!"We switched her over to this food gradually, but (knock on wood) her digestive issues have been cleared up since! We're about a month in and all is well! We have solid #2's now and couldn't be happier. We also love this food as it has the balance she needs (compared to a low residue food) and she absolutely loves it.We're now starting the potato and fish treats and will report on that within the next week or two.

This food was a recommendation from a local pet shop since we like to give our pups the healthiest and/or most natural food we can give them. Our pups wouldn't stop eating this food and usually they are very picky. Food is on the expensive side but once you check out the ingredients you will see why that is. Would definitely recommend this to dog owners that want the best for their dogs.

Customer service is not helpful whatsoever. I was basically ignored by the manufacturer when I emailed requested a refund. I was told these worm things came from my container. Wtf?! I have had dogs for over 13 years now and have NEVER seen this in any of the brands of food I have used. He is 13 years old and “trying to act like a puppy”, as my daughter says and I think the food has everything to do with that. Anyhow to me customer service is top priority which is why I love my amazon so much! Any company that doesnt treat me as well as amazon no longer gets my business and my pups deserve better than I received from them. :(

My dog loves FirsMate grain free foods. She has tried every flavor and enjoys them all. Molly (my dog) has significant allergies and has a tendency to be very picky about her food. This food has decreased her itchiness, resulted in healthy poops, and a generally happier dog. I don't mind paying a little bit more for a food that has resulted in a happier and healthier dog.

As a pet enthusiast, I appreciate when a manufacturer cares about the animal and not just the profits. First Mate has their own factory and sources their products from North America. They formulate their food to be holistic, basically, what the dog needs and nothing else. Their food is balanced and not trendy like many of the high protein diets. Best of all...my dogs eat it! I cannot tell you how many times I have purchased high end foods that my dogs won't go near.

This is one of the best foods on the market for dogs with allergy's. I highly recommend this product I tried a small bag in the past but it was hard to get as it is not any pet stores in my area, I was glad to see on amazon nice and simple food not too high in protein for senior or any age dogs. My 2 rotties love it!

I've always had trouble getting my dogs to eat dry dog food. I had ordered a small bag of the potato, chicken & blueberry just to keep on hand just in case. Well, my dog got sick and would not eat his regular food. We tried everything. We opened the bag of First Mate, and he ate the whole bowl! He's been eating it ever since, and I'm totally amazed.It works!!!

I have an American Eskimo and she loves, loves, loves this food. Her breed has a tendency to have tear stains and this food with the blueberries has eliminated that problem. Them come back when I feed her too many treats so I've started using the kibble as rewards and she's still anxious to do her tricks and get a reward.

Tengo una bichón maltés que por desgracia es muy delicada con lo que come y el pienso por lo general le sentaba mal o le daba alergia. Tuve que darle durante mucho tiempo pienso dietético para animales con problemas gástricos y luego con el veterinario acordamos cambiar a un pienso hipoalergénico de primera marca bastante conocida el cual le está yendo bastante bien.Explico esto para poneros en situación de la delicadeza de mi mascota respecto a su alimentación. Cuando me ofrecieron probar el pienso para perros de FirstMate me llamó la atención que no contiene cereales y el alto porcentaje de proteínas que incluye, así que decidí probarlo con mi mascota, siempre consultandolo antes con el veterinario, el cual me dijo que por los ingredientes que incluye no debería haber ningún problema.He de decir que estoy encantado con él, a mi perrita le encanta el pienso, tiene un tamaño correcto para perros, se nota que se lo come con gusto y lo más importante, tras varios días comiendolo no ha tenido ningún efecto adverso confirmando así que es un buen pienso, hiporalegénico y que le encanta.Sin duda volveré a adquirirlo.

Decidí adquirir este pienso para mi perro. Es un bóxer de 50kg bastante grande, pero muy adorable.Entre otras cosas también me ayuda a dar su punto de vista en este tipo de productos ya que nos concemos de hace más de 12 años y sé perfectamente cuando un pienso le gusta y cuando no.En este caso creo que ha sido uno de los mejores piensos que ha probado, de hecho cada vez que le iba a poner comida se alegraba tanto cómo si de un pollo al horno se tratase.Lo único malo a mi pesar es su precio, si que es verdad que este pienso está más pensado para perros pequeños-medianos y les durará bastante, pero en mi caso que mi perro se come un saco de estos a la semana y cada saco cuesta 70€ es un poco descabellado...100% recomendable.

Normalmente no suelo alimentar a mi perro con el pienso que me envían. Esto es por la sencilla razón que los perros son muy sensibles al cambio de pienso (y el mío especialmente) y es una molestia que prefiero evitarle. De modo que, salvo chuches y cosas así, el pienso lo dono a una protectora de animales donde siempre es bienvenida cualquier ayuda.Dicho esto, me dicen que no ha causado ninguna molestia en los animales que lo están comiendo. Han leído los ingredientes y, aunque no están a la altura de las primeras marcas, no encuentran inconveniente alguno para su uso en perros adultos.Al tener pocos ingredientes, resulta especialmente indicado para aquellos animales más sensibles y con alergias.El precio me parece algo elevado, pero puede que se deba al elevado coste en el transporte, ya que es un saco de 13 kilos.
