Pfaff Medical Dog Carrier/Lifting Front Harness for Elderly or Injured Dogs (Large)

I ordered this vest for my 12 year old, 45 kg, limping labrador. He's been wearing this as a regular accessory (we only take it off when he bathes to wash it). The materials and quality are great and helping him walk is a breeze. You can adjust the height of the handles to fit your arm. (I'm a short person so this is pretty convenient). This vest is also a lifesaver because otherwise, we wouldn't be able to carry our overweight dog up to the van. The velcro of this vest is also very strong and won't decay with use. My only minor problem is that this product is shipped from Germany and they send it via regular post mail (which is efficient in many countries, but since we live in Mexico we had to wait about 2 months between the purchase and the reception date).My dog has been using this vest for about 2 years and he was recently diagnosed with hip dysplasia. Even though this product is meant to help your dogs front-end, helping him carry some of his weight also eases the pain and effort on his hips.

Product is well made and the company is quick to respond to questions. However, I have run into a couple of little snags with this product. The straps on the harness aren't quite long enough. I'm 6'4" and I have to lean over to support my dog. Additionally the end of the straps are not sewn back to themselves This allows the clasp to occasionally slip straight off the strap while you're supporting your dog. I pulled out my sewing machine and fixed this. And the clasps have not slipped off since. Lastly, I can't leave the harness on throughout the day. It rubs on my dogs armpits and has caused chaffing in there if left on to long. But it's easy enough to slip on and off.A X-Large fits my 80 pound pitbull/german shepherd and it's worth the 2 week wait as the product ships from Germany.

Excellent customer service! The Pfaff staff is very responsive to customer's email. I needed the carrier ASAP and emailed to the Pfaff with my situation. The carrier was shipped within a few hours of my order with a follow up email from the Pfaff. It's shipped from Germany. The carrier is simple to use, provides nice cushioning. The edge of the openings for the arms is stretchable soft and will not cut the skin. The whole carrier is reinforced all around to support the weight of the dog. Unfortunately my dog passed away before he could use it. The Pfaff is very understanding and made the return very easy. I donated the carrier to local shelter and they refunded me within a day. If I ever need a carrier in the future, I will definitely get this product again.

This harness fit my 93 lb. Golden Retriever well. There is enough room on the velcro closure to let it out as needed yet still have it be securely fastened. It seems very sturdy and well-made and it was easy to get on and off my dog. The delivery time was much sooner than expected - I ordered it on Monday December 7, and it arrived on December 15, a full 7 days early, and it shipped from Germany! Thank you Mr. Pfaff for a great product that will help me better manage my dog's front mobility issues! And thank you for the exceptionally prompt delivery service!

Very good product, it fitted my 13yr old German shepherd perfectly! She had to get used to it at first, but it came on the best time since she had to go to several vet visits and we could not have not done it without this harness! It was worth the wait. I wish they had another piece that helped the pelvis part that was similar to this one, that would be perfect!

Perfect solution for my senior Golden Retriever with a recent front leg amputation who needs some stability assistance when walking. I searched for almost 8 months to find a harness like this. It is soft, nicely padded, thin and flexible, with a great large "Velcro" patch area for a secure and strong fit. Handles are length adjustable, soft, padded handle and provide me a confident secure hold. A+

This item was well made but it did not fit our 120 lb. female Great Dane. The leg openings were far too small to be comfortable for her so we returned the carrier.

Fantastic harness. I bought this after our husky had to have disc surgery, and it offers fantastic support as is fits around the front limbs well when lifting without putting pressure on the neck/back and can't slide around. Handles are alterable, so you can save your back, too! Very impressed, and does the job of getting him up and weight bearing really well. Even the neurologist vet was impressed by it when he went for his post-op check wearing it! Highly recommended.

This is a good aid for our dog who has a broken leg. Well made and the dog seems not to notice it once its on. Can be quite difficult to put on as the dog has to be lifted with one hand to put the good leg in the hole with the other (after putting the injured leg in first) Also the handle cover could be made easier if it was longer with more Velcro - if it was longer it could just be wrapped around the handles quickly. As it is it's only just long enough to meet around the handles and the dog must keep still. This made worse by us having a tall dog and short people, so the handles have to be very short. Nevertheless these are minor niggles and overall very satisfied.

This has given a new lease of life to my 3 legged wolfhound. Her stump fits comfortably through the leg hole and there is plenty of support at the front even for a huge dog. It seems to be comfortable for her to wear and it is comfortable for us to provide the extra support. Lovely fit in the LARGE. Highly recommended

Unfortunately, even though I ordered extra large, it was too tight for my dog so had to return it. However I am sure the product works well for other dogs. I can only review on my own experience.
