Leviton One-Piece Glazed Porcelain Outlet Box Mount, Incandescent Lampholder, Pull Chain, Top Wired, 9726-C, White

Installed this Leviton porcelain bulb outlet in my garage to brighten up some dark spots, and it worked perfectly. It mounted right up to the existing electrical box, and wiring it was quick and straightforward. I really like that it includes a built-in outlet, great for plugging in another light or tool when needed. Feels solid and well-made, and you can’t beat the price!

Good value, works great, easy to install. Just what I hoped for.

I installed this in a closet that had an existing light fixture with a dim LED “can” style light. It was an easy install and allowed me to use one of those super bright LED garage light bulbs to increase the lighting in the closet. If you’re an electrician, you know all about these fixtures. If you’re not an electrician and thinking about tackling an electrical project like installing something like this, I recommend you invest in at least a non-contact voltage tester so you don’t electrocute yourself. Having a multi-meter would also be a good idea but they’re kind of expensive and you should at a minimum use a non-contact voltage tester to make sure you’re not working on an energized circuit. There are lots of videos on youtube that walk you through safely installing this product. Remember electricity can kill you, and it will hurt the whole time you’re dying. This fixture, which is made of porcelain, is durable and will probably be in use for decades and decades.

EASY INSTALL WITH THE CONVIENIENCE OF A PLUG IN! JUST WHAT I NEEDED TO FINISH MY CLOSET REMODEL. HAD TO USE A PUNCH TO POP OUT THE SECONDARY MOUNTING HOLES, BUT WORKED GREAT.

Great; just what I needed.

Built to last quality and ultra-reasonable cost bulb holder with pull-chain convenience. Have two other of the same lamp holders situated in my house and appreciate the plug-in receptacle included in the design. The unit was easy to install and get wired in with electricity, and after that was accomplished, was ready for the multi-paddle LED light bulb that was ready to be fitted. The plug in allows for using other electrical tools while enjoying the illumination from the light bulb. The height or thickness of this unit allows this unit to be easily mounted or fit in a multitude of areas without creating an obstruction, and the porcelain shell makes it durable in any environment. The supplied pull chain is short and can be easily lengthened with a multitude of decorative extensions available on Amazon.

Sturdy. Does what it’s supposed to do. My only complaint is that the pull-string comes through a short porcelain stem. This makes pulling the on off string difficult when pulling sideways like for my application. Pulling straight down, absolutely no problem. It was quite easy to install. Took me about 15 minutes.

Ok, I'm sometimes lazy and order things from Amazon just to save the time and fuel and I dont learn my lesson. Now that we've cleared that out of the way... I needed some pull chain light sockets with built in outlets for my basement and garage so I ordered this item. Leviton is a good brand and I don't usually have problems with their products. Well, I have ordered these on 2 seperate occasions from Amazon so I didn't have to run to a hardware store. The first order was for 3 and when I received the delivery I found one of the sockets (which are made of porcelain) broken in the manufacturers box. My shipping box was completely dent and damage free. The manufacturers box was also damage free. So, unfortunately I had to send back all 3 because of 1 broken one so Amazon could get me a replacement. Amazon had my replacements sent and delivered to me within 24 hours, good job Amazon. Sooo, I installed all the sockets and everything went well, all are operational and perform great. I decided I needed one more so I took a chance ordered another one. Well, today I received it and guess what...broken. Again, sending this one back and a replacement is on its way. I don't know if these are coming from manufacturing damaged, being damaged during shipment or damaged at the Amazon warehouse (a whole case being dropped, etc). So, here's my lesson, I THOUGHT I was saving time and gas by ordering these from Amazon but I am using my "saved" time and fuel to go to the UPS Store to drop the broken ones off to be returned. Lol! The sockets themselves: They are single pole with a grounding screw built in. Three wires is all that's required for hookup but if you don't have a ground wire they can still be hooked up. The outlet works great and is convenient for a room that has no outlets in the walls. Plug is tight when inserted and holds well. Don't tighten these with alot of force or you risk breaking the ears that the screws go through, it's porcelain. Get them tight but don't gorilla grip it! I ordered the white color and they are a true white. These will work fine for incandescent, CFL, LED light bulbs. Includes a string cord to attach to the ball chain to extend the pull switch. A little tricky to get on but with patience you'll get it. Includes new screws for mounting in box. Overall I'm happy, they work great, switch is smooth operating. I just might not order again from Amazon due to the inconvenience. Hope this helps.
