Okay...so I am relatively new to woodworking, but I own some great tools--DeWalt table and miter saws, Bosch router with plunge base and standard base, but I would still like to find room in my garage for a drill press and maybe a joiner. Anyhow, I purchased these fluted dowels because I had seen that some people were having problems seating their dowels in the holes made for them if their dowels weren't' fluted--nowhere for the glue to go! So...the prayer kneeler (Prie Dieux) I am making for my daughter requires some joinery, and these dowels have been working very, very well! Like I said, this is my first time using dowels, so I don't really know much about using dowels that are not fluted, but these fluted dowels have been working perfectly for me! Thanks!

Dowel pins are the best method for holding multiple pieces of wood together while gluing.
