The Best of Paolo Conte Nonesuch

Songs and audio are excellent. I'm very happy happy with this purchase.

If you do not know Paolo Conte - buy the CD.If you know Paolo Conte - no more to say, he is graet.The only thing i must say about this CD, it is a newly remastered one, with new versions of his classic songs, i have the same CD also a few years older and most of the songs there sound a bit more original, more cooler, more spotlight on his voice and not somuch on the music. On this CD it takes some time to get used to the new digital instruments used in a very dominant manner. But as said it will only confuse you if you have owned the older version before, a great piece of music.

Conte just might be a genius, and this collection showcases him at his best. Trust me on this: Open a bottle of nice wine, pour a glass, and settle down with this music. You'll soon feel as if you are in a romantic club in Venice.

I ordered the "Best of Paolo Conti, 1998" and I received a different album - listed above. I am enjoying the music but it is NOT as good as the one I wanted.I am disappointed at the substitute without my approval.Sheila Dufford

Great transaction. Love this CD! I replaced one I already had and lost and I think this one has a couple different songs but it's still great.

A whole new art form for me, what a thrill, magnificently musical, I was carried away on first hearing.

Sexy voice.

This is my first experience with this singer. He obviously has been around. He is a great interpreter, and even though I don't speak French, the emotion is solid.Better late than never.

Zweifelsohne ist Paolo einer der ganz Großen. Er ist ein Musik-Poet, ein Entertainer, ein Komödiant und man spürt, wie er die Musik lebt. Die Texte und die Arrangements sind durchweg auf sehr hohem Niveau und ich werde den Verdacht nicht los, daß die überwiegende Mehrheit seiner Fans einen Hochschulabschluß hat.Die CD "The Best Of" ist eine sehr schöne Zusammenstellung der meisten Klassiker (Hits finde ich bei Paolo die falsche Bezeichnung). Nicht zuletzt habe ich diese CD gekauft, weil sie meine Lieblings-Variante von "Sparring Partner" und "Elisir" beinhaltet.Die bisweilen etwas harsch anmutende Art des singenden Juristen ist mir sehr nah und zeigt mir seine völlige Authentizität. Die Tatsache, daß er mit 80 auf Tournee ist, zeigt, wie gut seine Musik tut. Paolo for ever!

This CD only arrived yesterday and I've already fallen in love with it. If you're only familiar with the first track Via Con Me, you're pretty much in the same position I was yesterday, The great news is that this isn't one of those CDs that you only end up liking the one song that attracted your attention in the first place - it's full of great music! I don't even think that Via Con Me is the best track, Sotto Le Steele Del Jazz, Boogie, Elisir, Come Di or Sparring Partner could all be worthy of that crown - and that's just the first half a dozen songs on this wonderful CD. The songs are all loosely jazz based and sung in Italian, although there is occasional and playful use of English - as in Via Con Me's "s wonderful, I dream of you". I don't understand a lot of the lyrics, but I have lots of foreign language CDs and you can usually find a translation of the lyrics if you search online. I don't find it strictly necessary to enjoy the music, but I like to have a loose understanding of what a song is about. Oh and regarding the famous "Chips! Chips" from Via Con Me. The best explanation that I've found is that Conte simply liked the percussive sound of the word. In fairness it works perfectly.
