Fashion in the '70s: The Definitive Sourcebook Paperback – February 1, 2015

There is an almost complete lack of color photographs (from a decade known for its, um shall we say *unique* color palette). Also the book focuses almost exclusively on 'catwalk' fashion as opposed to what actual people wore. It delivers what is promised, a big book with lots of fashion pictures, but it could have more. Also, while it is good at identifing photographers, the models for the most part remain nameless.

As with all Fiell Fashion Sourcebooks, this book is a great addition to a fashion library. True, the 1970s were not known for fashion glamour. But this book brings out some of the best that the decade had to offer. Plus, you can also view the trends that trickled down to the common fashions that average folks like me used to wear: hot pants, peasant dresses, platform shoes etc. The only thing conspicuously lacking is that there is little from the later years of the decade.

Another good book in the series to add to your collection of vintage fashion. Great photos.

They had color photos in the 70's. There's only a few in this book. What a waste of a book. Disappointing

If you like the early 70s, specifically 1972 and 73, then this is a great set of photos for you. For the rest of us, there's absolutely no context or history of fashion about the decade written, let alone through each year. You can count the photos of other years on your hands. Also there are only couture photos, no information or photos of how those designs funneled down into the ordinary persons' wardrobe. Cannot recommend.

Was very disappointed in this book - not enough 70's pics in it and the 70's is one of my fave decades - think this book was rushed and not enough research done on it. Cover looks good but content/pics not as good as the other books in previous decades.

Un gran libro!! Muchísimas imágenes de la época, estoy encantada con la compra, bastante abundante de páginas y fotografías de la época!

ich hatte mich gefreut auf ausgefallene hippiemode, glamrock, disco, biba und punk und models wie jerry hall und lauren hutton, ausgefallene schuhe, make-ups und frisuren. dies wurde auf dem cover auch angekündigt. zu jedem dieser aspekte gab es aber nur ein bis zwei photos, fast das gesamte buch bestand nur aus extrem langweiligen und spießigen kniebedeckten muttikostümen und öden kleidern in allen variationen. die vielseitigkeit und die extravaganz dieses jahrzehnts wurden bis auf vielleicht 10 photos völlig ausgeblendet. ärgerlich und enttäuschend, keine kaufempfehlung !!
