Not used in earnest yet (bought for power outages) but seems robust and was easy to set up and run.
I've owned many Briggs and Stratton engines over the last fifty years, mainly in lawnmowers, and so when I decided to buy a generator in order to keep the lights on in my home here in the UK if we run out of natural gas this winter (go green, go broke and be poor is the government policy here in the UK), I decided to buy one that had one of these trusty engines inside it.The unit arrived promptly, well-packaged and with adequate set-up instructions. You have to fill the engine sump with your own oil but once you've done this, you just fill the tank with fuel, turn the operating switch to 'choke' and give the pull-starter a few sharp pulls and you are up and running. The unit has two UK 240V AC sockets as well as 12V DC connectors and even a USB charging connection. My only gripe as regards connection is that UK sockets are much larger than the US 120V design for which the generator was clearly originally designed, and this means that it's very difficult to actually get two UK plugs into the sockets because there's hardly enough space between them. The generator uses an inverter to maintain voltage and, more importantly, frequency at any engine speed and so it doesn't have to run at 3,000 rpm constantly in order to maintain these output values. This means that, at low loads, the engine spins down and is therefore quieter and more fuel efficient. There are videos on YouTube showing oscilloscope outputs during load cycling of this generator and which show how remarkably stable the output frequency is. So for the money, this is an excellent generator for just about any domestic mains driven appliance. If we get black-outs during the winter, I'll update this review but for now, I'd recommend it.

Great generator
Its small, reasonably quiet and easyily as good as a honda. The price i paid for it makes it a superb buy against other generators out there

GOOD LOOKING GENERATOR
I have run this for a short while only, but may add to comment later. It started after a couple of pulls. It ran well and was tried using various household loads ending with a 1Kw blower. The noise level goes up as the load increases. In contrast to the Amazon spec of 55db, I notice the B&G paperwork mentions 76db. I am installing a 125A changeover switch to enable the B&S to run the basic household electrics.Have had this for 6 months standing by in case the 230v mains power fails. Trying to start it recently was impossible. The last time I ran it, I had turned it off before the fuel ran out. So I removed the filler cap. Put the control to "ON" (this opens the fuel tap). I removed the side panel on opposite side and used the small hose from the bottom of the carb to drain the tank. Having done this I put some fresh fuel in the tank and it started after 3 pulls. I recommend doing this even if you do run it until it stops, just to get all the old fuel out of the carb. Note all my fuel was treated, but there you go.

Lovely machine but couldn't register with Briggs & Stratton
Lovely machine. Have only run it for a little while. Not too loud. Runs sweetly. Very portable if you are not too weak to lift that weight.Problem - how do you register this on the Briggs and Stratton website? My telephone number fails validation every time and is a required field. It seems to only accept USA format numbers, even though I have changed the area on the top of the page. The QR code and text suggestion that comes with the machine don't work. Any ideas?Otherwise, good machine.UPDATE: Briggs & Stratton have emailed me to say that there is no need to register this product if not in USA, despite all the paperwork for registration coming with the machine. Don't waste hours trying to register like I did!

Easy fit, works well but expensive.
Easy to fit, does the job. Should really be supplied with the generator. Very expensive for what it is.

BRILLIANT, above expectations
The media could not be loaded. BRILLIANT! easy to set up, purfect for our narrowboat, plenty of sockets for phones, power cables etc, not too loud, it is a single cylinder engine so some noise is to be expected.Would buy again and very happy boater, thanks

So far so good
Had this around a year now, used when working where there is no power, kept the oil changes up and it has not missed a beat.
