Book is a great guide

I am using this book and the process for spiritual purposes. It has so far been very helpful in that sense.However, it also has strong psychological aspects as well. There are reasons the Jesuits have been so successful across time and cultures. The Ignatian Exercises, updated but still true to their nature, also provide insights into one's nature, motivations, and actions. Choosing to use that information and insight can impact one's personal,temporal life even if the spiritual portions are not pursued.

I read this book as an 'assignment' for spiritual direction. The book takes you through a process of recognizing your sacred story and how it is intertwined with everyone else's sacred story, even Jesus' Sacred Story. The highlight for me was the process it takes your through leading up to a 'whole life confession' of sin. It wasn't easy, but finally getting rid of all the 'stuff' I had been carrying around for a long time was very rewarding. Also found the daily process of reviewing CREATION-PRESENCE-MEMORY-MERCY-ETERNITY very beneficial to my spiritual growth. I highly recommend this book for anyone trying to grow closer to God, especially if Ignatian Spirituality is attractive to you.

I tried using the videos only on a website (not the author's website) but I couldn't follow what I was supposed to do. The book clears it up completely, plus I find it easier to go back and highlight what struck me at the time. So pleased to have bought this. It's a helpful journey so far because it helps me integrate my whole life, not just my church life.

A classic guide to prayer and self examination. It is a difficult path yet it returns great value to anyone who can stay the course. I am grateful for the experience and can always reference the road throughout my life.

One of the best self-guided prayer programs I have ever done. A gentle introduction to Ignatian method, really awoke me to spiritual realities. Must read. Buy a few to give away! I'm just now buying another one to give to loved ones. Initially recommended to me by a priest, and it has been a great help since I started almost a year ago.

This book has really helped turn my life around. It provides a systematic method for introspection rooted in Catholic tradition. This book does not provide pious or ambiguous mumbo-jumbo. It encourages you to engage in critical introspection, leading to a better life, better values, and better decisions.
