Great war film with Great actors, keeps you gripped to the film right from the start.

Nothing to dislike good old school Holywood movie

Did not receive Extended Cut as advertised. This is the standard 163 minutes version. Was purchased to receive the Extended Cut 180 mins version. This is disappointing. It is still a great movie

Excellent Movie

I have loved this film for a few years now but I could never justify buying it as it is still shown on TV evry now and then. But I had a few vouchers to use up and I took the plunge.The subject matter is a historical fact that has been written about and analysed by so many scholers that you find yourself thinking what can be gained from watching the film. The answer is not that much about the events of those few days in Belgium but what you do learn is how a variety of the combatents felt through out the battle. The film producers got hold of documents, diary's and letters from those involved in the battle and used them to flesh out the action.

This isn't a bad action film, with plenty of tank battles, although the story is a bit weak and the ending is a bit of an anticlimax. However, this is not the stated extended version, it is the standard copy.

We spent a holiday in the area this film covers and wanted a permanent reminder apart from the usual photos. The actors are all old school famous names - from the days when actors didn't all look the same and when even Americans sounded sort of English. The story of General Patton's attitude to the Germans is well documented in most museums you visit in the Ardennes, and the film is probably fairly close to the truth - war films are usually slanted towards the prospective audience. We all know bits about various World War 2 killing fields, Dunkirk, Casino, Tobruk and Neimegan, this rates alongside all of those, and even if it is 'only a film' it has it's base in factual happenings.

j'ai trouvé le film assez médiocre et les acteurs (y compris Henri Fonda) peu impliquésla caricature de l'officier nazi est assez désagréable aussimais l'histoire de cette bataille des Ardennes est tout à fait émouvante et humaine
