Three Amigos! [DVD]

OK its a really stupid story packed with outrageous hilarious stereotypes. Town threatened by bad guys. Heroine pleads for help. Three ridiculous cowboy actors come to the rescue for the wrong reason. Boys meet girls. Songs are sung on the desert. Very funny and vainglorious bad guy. Big shoot-em-up. Happy ending. I've watched this movie at least 15 times.

We love movie nights, but as my kids have gotten older, it’s gotten more difficult to find something appropriate and enjoyable for everyone. (Kids are ages 17 through 11.) This is a great comedy for the family! Even though it is an older movie, it aged well and got lots of laughs from the kids.

This is a funny, entertaining movie.

Everyone should watch every few years just like Chevy Chase's Christmas movie.

I absolutely love this movie. The only reason I docked a star is because the blu ray quality is pretty bad at times.

Let's face it. Movies and music don't really have the quality, cleverness, originality, etc. that it used to have. Everyone is so afraid of offending some butt-hurt group or something. This movie is by far of the greatest movies of all time. The cast in it has so many amazing people obviously including the amazing Steve Martin, Chevy Chase and Martin Short. I am thinking that Steve Martin had a lot to do with this film's success as it has a lot of his jokes written all over it, but having seen this movie at least 50 times now since I was a boy, it just never gets old. I just watched it again from my hospital bed and it is the first time all week I have laughed out loud and feel so happy. If you haven't ever seen this movie and are reading this review, please do yourself a favor. John Landis has quite the catalog of great films & this has to be one of his best. Keep in mind, Jon Landis also did Animal House, Coming to America and so much more even including MJ's Thriller video! The actors are top notch, the script is hilarious, the plot is kind of dumb & over the top but that is what you want in a comedy!

The chemistry of Martin, Short, and Chase works. The story is very good. The humor still works well. A fun and funny movie. Lets me remember why Chevy Chase was a star. That guys didn't even try to act - he was just perfect as he was.

Not as funny as when I saw it at the cinema BUT there is no denying Steve Martin; Chevvy Chase and Martin Short are absolutely at their best in this movie. Some of the gags now fall a little flat and the scene with the singing bush is just bewildering. However, still a great movie if only in parts.

I bought this to show my teenage children because I have such fond memories of the film (which doesn't seem to get featured on TV much if at all). It is something of a hidden classic, I think. The opening scenes in Hollywood are a bit long, but once the action moves to Mexico it is great fun from start to finish. It is basically a spoof of The Magnificent Seven with some great jokes.

The Three Amigos is a really good film, Not exactly in the artistic sense but in the sense that it makes you laugh, a lot, and it even sends over a couple of value messages. These three guys come to a Mexican village, thinking that they're going to give a couple of shows, not realizing that the baddies are for real this time. Each actor has his own personality and special kind of wit, which actually helps win the day, in the end, after many "surprises". I think that if you like comedy, this is for you.
