perfect chaos
Perfect chaos is the best way to describe this book! And the ending….. wtf! Hahahaha. JEM can do no wrong in my mind. I don’t know that I could make the same decision Tyler did!

Beautiful story, but you need to be patient to get it. No epilogue. Good ending but not Enough!
This book is written in Ty’s ( male) point of view, which is unusual compared to a typical romance book. But I get it after reading the entire book. Again, like most JEM book, you have to be patient to the very end of the book to appreciate the beauty of the story. It is a beautiful story and despite Ty’s involvement with other women, I get it. I never like cheating. Once a cheater, always a cheater. That is a bad trigger for me based on personal experience. However, I’m letting it go. You have to read the story to understand why. I’m giving it 4 stars because despite the good ending, there was no epilogue. I think they deserve a better ending and the readers a HEA epilogue just because readers have to endure so much conflicting emotions while reading this book. Lainey’s story and her past were awful and she deserves a better ending that what JEM wrote for her.Again, this book is good but only JEM can spin it this way, I don’t think any author could put a light to this story other than her. She has that knack of explaining things and making words easy to understand. She is one of my top 3 fave author.

Another prefect read
Another hit from JEM. You had me at this Man and keep me coming back for so many more! I could go on and on about so many of your books! I rarely give out 5 stars, but it seems to happen a lot with Jodi's books. I absolutely loved that this book is in the MMC POV!!! I don't know what to say other than this book was incredible. MMC falls first is always lovely. I really am at a loss for words for fellow readers besides definitely putting this on your list!!!!! Keep them coming, Jodi!!!!

The HEA wasnt worth the angst throughout the book
JEM is really my one to click author. I hate to do this but this is is probably my lowest rated book from her.The plus point was that it was refreshing to have a male POV for a romance. However, my issue was with the FMC and the constant hot & cold treatment & the tenterhooks she put the MMC. It was just painful to read. There were a few times that I was really tempted to DNF but trudged through since this is JEM. Granted, this could be because we only have Ty’s view but by the time she warmed up, I was so done with Lainey. That ending within 1-2 chapters did not salvage her: I didnt bother by then. 2.5 stars

Great Read
Jodi knows how to write romance. Any book that I have read of hers, has resonated with me and allows the reader to feel a part of the story. You can feel the connection with the characters and understand the emotions she is writing.

Devoured in two days, but...
I have been an avid JEM fan since This Man. I was thrown when I saw this book was released without any advanced fanfare or pre-order options. First, I enjoyed this book from Ty's POV even if he was a manwhore. I appreciate that this book didn't use 1st person POV that flipped from one character's view to another. Ty was an interesting character to follow for sure and watching his reaction to Lainey was a head-turner. While I really liked Ty, I struggled to like Lainey and I hate to even type that.Spoiler-ishLainey has a few reasons to struggle with relationships. Her ex wasn't great, but for once I was glad he wasn't physically abusive. I find that this seems to be the road that many authors take. I like that they deal with the concept of slut-shaming, and dismiss that she is somehow less than because she might be sleeping around, while she's unattached. I also like that Ty, while he struggled with jealousy at the thought, got over it since he is in fact a self-proclaimed manwhore. On the other hand, I struggled to connect with Lainey as I have with every other JEM book. I really connected with Gina and wanted Ty to realize she was the one for him. There was no character development with Lainey. She was standoffish then red hot. I was so confused about what her back story was. How did Ty fall for "all of her," when we learn nothing about her other than her fear of water, crappy ex, and barely mentioned sister. Really, all we know is how she smiles, smells, and...I like that Lainey isn't a pushover. I like the way she took a crappy experience and turned it into a job that helps other women. I don't think anyone should judge her for the decisions she's made. She held so tight onto the heartache that it turned into vengeful man-hating rage.OVERALL... Good-ish

This story hits you right in the heart.
This is the story of Ty (Tyler) & Lainey. Ty started an advertising agency with his partner, Sal. Lainey is hired by Sal to be his PA. Ty is really attracted to her, and it's against rules to have anything sexual going on with employees. This is a real stunner of a story. I just love Ty. Although he is a playboy, he is vulnerable when it comes to Lainey. He doesn't want to see anyone else but her. She is a total mystery, not only to Ty, but also to the reader. Yes, she's been hurt, but the way she acts, it's almost like she has multiple personalities; vulnerable, to professional, seeing other guys, she can switch in an instant. It drives Ty crazy. Then you find out how deeply rooted her issues and fears are. Ty slowly gets her to let her guard down. It's the way Jodi writes her stories that is so intriguing. They pull you in every time. She just has that knack. Ty's thoughts are funny at times. I found myself laughing out loud a few times. The name of the book suits the story to a tee. I also like that it's from Ty's POV. I love the man's view of things.

Perfect read/listen
This is my very first book from Jodi Ellen Malpas and definitely not my last. I chose this book due to my favourite British narrator Shane East. Who can resist 15 hours and 28 minutes of solo Shane in their ears! Ms. Malpas beautiful writing and Mr. East narration was the perfect combination. With any books that Mr. East narrates, you will get a total performance, he has this in depth understanding of every single characters that the authors wanted to convey and he performs them to a tee. This book is no exception, I’m very impressed with Ms. Malpas clever writing, she wrote a very complex characters especially with Tyler Christianson and to read/listen to the whole book in a man’s point of view was fascinating. It actually worked because along with Ty I was riveted as a reader/listener and I was desperate to find out Lainey Summer's secrets which Ms. Malpas kept me guessing up to the very end. I suggest having tissues on the ready for the final chapter, Mr. East deserves an award for his outstanding narration for that chapter alone and Ms. Malpas knows exactly how to tug at my heartstrings. This struck a chord with me personally. One of my best read/listen this year.
