Liberty and Property

Best explanation of freedom and property
This surprisingly short book nevertheless comprises a deep and thorough analysis of why freedom depends on property. The antidote to a lot of the ideology being taught by the ignorant to the ignorant in most universities.

A must read to understand the importance of personal liberty and freedom!
Ludwig von Mises has distilled the concept and benefits of capitalism, along with the absolute value of personal property, into a very compelling speech. We need more thinkers like him today.

A must read for all the uneducated socialist out there that have no clue what they are speaking about.

Powerful exploration of the virtues of Capitalism
Powerful exploration of the virtues of Capitalism by one of its most thoughtful and thought provoking defenders. Less of a philosophical or economic defense of or justification for capitalism than a forthright explanation of the fundamental link between liberty and prosperity through property ownership under the framework conditions established by a government of extremely limited authority and functions.

Pertinent to our time
Today, with so many listening to the siren song of Marxism, this book, authored by one who had predicted the rise of totalitarianism and socialism in Europe, provides a strong defense of capitalism which is still spot on. He also puts forth strong arguments for government intervention to be minimal. He succeeds doing this in easy to understand prose. Should be on everything informed citizen's must read list

Should be mandated for high school civics
This is a quick read with precision insight into a much needed economic understanding. In today's nonsensical economic philosophies pushing for government control of America's economic future, Mises sets on a platter the reality that individual freedom should never be forsaken.

An Emphatic Refutation of Mark if I Ever Heard One
Ludwig von Mises does more to expose Marx for the over-educated dillitante he was than many writers today. He does so in a clear, easy-to-understand style that should be simple enough for even those who do not have a background in finance or economics to comprehend. Even though he lived decades ago, his concepts and principles are timeless, easily applicable to our modern world. There are society's dedicated to the study and preservation of Mise's writings and theories, and I can well concede there should be far more of them--preferably in Washington D.C. Perhaps our president could attend a few meetings?

Highly recommended for young people before they enter higher "education"
Very clear comparison of capitalism and socialism; a comparison that young people can understand. It alerts the reader to the key practical difference between these two political philosophies - capitalism actually produces a political environment that allows its people to improve their lot, if they put forth the effort required, while socialism only produces misery for all but the top elite while the people are told promises of utopia that never come true. Highly recommended for young people before they enter higher "education".
