Extremely disappointed! The CD does not work on 2 different CD players. Ok, it works on the car CD player.....like I’m going to play my alto in the car? Not all of the world has MP3. ALFRED MUSIC has really dropped the ball. This book is totally worthless to me without a playable CD.UPDATE: A friend converted this cd to my computer and phone. Perfect! Great backgrounds and wide range of pop songs. I got this for my 66th birthday. The book has “oldies “ that I love. I just played for well over an hour. Great fun!

I played sax pretty seriously in high school and college but its been about 25 years... I recently started playing again and love the band -1 books. The selection is great, lots of oldies and newer songs. They include one track with the sax part so you can hear what its suppose to sound like and one without. Not too easy but not too hard. I could sight read most of them but a few of the passages will need a little practice. I feel like I should take this, a hat and go set up in the subway! I have a few other books where I recognize one song and theres 15 I don't. There is something for everyone in this book.

Good sized notes makes it easy to read. It's definitely an intermediate book. Some songs are easier to read than others for sure. Look at the complete song list before you buy.

The book I ordered for my niece who is a sax enthusiast. I bought her similar books in the past off the same amazon buisiness and she loves them. She finds the songs more interesting and relatable. And since the songs are familiar on the radio and other media devices, she can hear her own mistakes and learn her instument in a more contemporary and fun way. Her skills are improving all the time and this makes it more fun.

Deserves 20 Stars! This book has something for everybody. The arrangements are easy to learn for a novice player, yet in many cases, sound good enough to perform. Contains full length tracks on all songs in both demo and backup tracks. Simply the best play along book I have found at any price.

This is good music for the Alto Sax player in your life. Fun solos to play and practice.

The sheet music is very good and worth a higher rating. Also, the MP3 cd may not work in some players. What I'm disappointed with the most is the MIDI alto sax voice. It sounds cheap and provides no dynamics. You will have to figure the dynamics out yourself.

music is well chosen - arrangements are good - the CD is only playable in a computer so if you think you are going to play the big sound through your sound system, forgot it. Otherwise, ok.

Bought for my niece who played clarinet and just started the sax. She loves it and found it really easy to follow and enjoys playing along or solo.
